The Grond Chronicles : Anatomy of a Coilover [Dialup: you know the script]
I bought Doug Rippie Motorsports (DRM) coilovers last year along with GM Racing T1 swaybars and subsequently dumped my entire stock suspension. I absolutely love my suspension - I could never go back to a transverse leaf now.
The DRM coilovers I have are custom shortened and revalved, but the rear springs were a little too soft for me. So I asked Randy (Rippie) of DRM to send me 650 inch/lb springs to replace the 550 inch/lb ones I currently have. By the way, Customer service at DRM is top notch - I can't say enough good things about them !!
Also, since my supercharger install, I have to raise the front by about 3/4 inch. So today was suspension day (among other things

Well, I finally got around to raising the front and swapping the rear springs, so I thought I would post some pics of the dissembled coilovers.
Special shortened coilovers
They need cleaning after 7 months of driving
Dissembled coilovers
Stiffer springs - which will allow me to go lower
Back together again - now to reinstall.

So what are you doing in your spare time ??? Sounds like you need to come up here and stay close to my car for awhile I could check in with you from work once in awhile and see how things were going

I love the look of those coil overs and believe that is the route I will go when I dump my F-45 system. How much for the normal coil overs as I do not quite need to drag the weeds like the Grond, however lower than what I have now will be fine and the superior handling they must provide is really what I am after and with a blower I will need my front about where it is for proper cooling

You really need to get her on the track because running a road course is a very different animal than driving on the street. Before you spend more $$$ you should should get on the track & find your weakest link...you may be surprised.

Seriously, it allows you to have absolute control over your suspension - ride height, corner balance, and true independent suspension. If you road race, you can setup your car for each course (if you wanted to).
I got them for 4 reasons.
1> I hated the stock suspension and Z06/Hotchkiss/QA/VB&P et al did NOT do it for me
2> I like total control
3> Ride height adjustability
4> Stiff suspension - like a race car.

My lower radiator mount touches the road when I drive on a bumpy road. That is the only reason I am raising the front a little bit.
Prior to the new ECS radiator mount, I drove it like this all over the country for about 9,000 miles.
