Default South Florida / Jupiter Quarterdeck Cruise

Alright folks time for another great cruise and lunch. This will be a cruise to the Jupiter Fl. Quarterdeck. We (the Amigos) have set-up another Corvettetogether. This one will be just like last year with a slight twist.
The date is: Sunday June 11th we should arrive at the Quarterdeck at approximately 12:00 NOON for some Corvette company. We will be cruising and arriving as a group so this should be pretty cool.
Now for the twist, we will be setting the cars up at the meeting points by generation. This means all C1's together, C2's together C3's i'm sure you get the hint.
You will be parked by generation as well. We need you to post in this thread that you will be coming, the generation of your Corvette, and which meeting area you are leaving from.
We will meet at these 3 locations: Tower Shoppes, Pompano service area on the turnpike and the WPB service plaza also on the turnpike. We will post the times at a later date. Last year saw 128 Corvettes We have room for more with the strip mall right there. ***UPDATE*** Post 145 has the times of departure posted.

THERE ARE "NO" VENDORS HERE This a day with our cars and fellow enthusiasts. If you plan to show up and sell something privately, that's fine. If you are a vendor, this is not a venue where you should plan to be.
Thanks for understanding
Bob

Oh well, this time it is not the King Tut Expo that will make me miss the cruise. That is the weekend that my wife and I annually take our children and grandchildren to Marco Island for a family get-away.

Nothing, and I mean nothing can change our plans. My grandchildren, all 4 of them, already have that long weekend circled on their calendars and burned into their memories.

It will be a neat cruise, someone needs to take lots and lots of pictures of the generations lined up. Make sure that a good digital camera is used so we can download the image and make posters.

Enjoy!

Jeff

Stephen, see if Chris wants to make the cruise down with you. Indiantown rd exit on the turnpike has a parking area off to the side, for you guy's coming from the North we can meet up there as we will be getting off at that exit.

I don't know yet John it's a little too early to tell. That said we might need your help getting cars into the parking area if your interested. These things are a big undertaking, and I see this as another good sized gathering. Any help from anyone local to the Quarterdeck would be appreciated.

This Amigo is ready to go!!!! Once again, I will be coordinating the Pompano service plaza group. I will be at the plaza 1 hour prior to roll out time, which will be edited into this post once we confirm times. I will try to have seperate lines for each generation so you can line up as you enter the plaza. If the plaza will not allow that, I ask you to at least park as close as you can to your generation. This will make things much easier when it comes time to assemble.

I will have a meeting exactly 20 minutes prior to the roll out time in the parking lot. Please be at the meeting!!! This is going to be a new challenge for us to assemble all these cars by generation and cruise in that order. We need your cooperation!! I will be contacting the State Farm Road Rangers for assistance to make this a fun and safe cruise. Once I confirm a few details with them, I will post details on how this "on road grouping" is going to take place.

OK, now for the best part!! Everyone likes the cake!! We needed 100 cars for the last Q'deck cruise to get a cake, and we all had cake. We needed 120 vettes for the last cruise for cake, and we didn't make the cake!!! I will set the same goal, 120 vettes and I will be sure to have a cake big enough for everyone. If a cake is made, there will be a donation box next to it. Hint, Hint!!! Let's all get together and have a great time as usual.

Ok, here is the final edit containing the info for this weekends cruise:
First of all, we ask that all vettes that will be meeting with a group arrive at the meeting point "at least" 30 minutes prior to the estimated roll-out time. Especially the Pompano and Palm Beach groups because it is difficult to know the exact time the previous group will be arriving at the next meeting point. Also, this time we will be additional coordinating to get the generations lined up.

Group 1 will be rolling out of the Tower shops at 10AM. Tower shops is located in the Home Depot shopping plaza off University Drive, just south of 595.

Group 2 will be leaving from the Pompano Beach Service Plaza "Northbound" at Approx. 10:20-10:30 as group 1 passes through. The best way to get to the Plaza is by entering at Commercial Blvd and heading North. You cannot get on from Atlantic Blvd.

Group 3 will be leaving the Palm Beach Service Plaza "Northbound" at approx. 11:00-11:10. The Palm Beach Service Plaza is north of Boynton Beach Blvd. and I believe North of Lake Worth Road as well.

As you all know, we would like to have all the vettes going to the Quarterdeck organized by generation. The best way to do this is to arrange the cars along the cruise, but please "DO NOT" sacrifice safety to make this happen. Basically, this is how it is going to work. Each meeting point will be divided by generation. Group 1 will leave with the earliest generation leading the pack. That means, C1's in the front and C6's in the rear. Now, each generation will have a "lead" car and a trailing car. As each group arrives at the next meeting point, we ask the "lead" car of that generation to carefully slow and allow the cars coming out of the plaza to file in behind the "tail" car of their generation. At that point, the cruise will pick up pace once again to 70mph. Now, if your the lead car for your generation and a car from the next earliest generation come up and signals to get in, let them in!! This will allow them to be on the tail of their generation. I hope I didn't confuse anyone, lol. It is real simple!! Use common sense and be safe. Again, this is an attempt to get "ALL" the vettes to enter in order to make parking by generation alot easier. One last thing, I will try again tomorrow to arrange a rolling road block with the State Farm Road Rangers. For those of you that were part of the Clewiston Cruise, you know what I am talking about. One last time, be at your meeting points at least 30 minutes prior to so you can line up and be present for the meeting. This may not be our largest cruise, but it sure is going to be neat seeing all the generations grouped cruising down the road. If anyone attending has friends or family that can go ahead of the group and set up for a video or pics, that would be awesome. Especially from an overpass!!! Seeyou all Sunday!!
