Default MSD distributor and control box

On my 61' with a 327; Eldebrock Performer heads, cam, intake and 600 cfm carb, (and I drive the car every day, several long road trips each year and "fun" drag races at the strip) I am considering installing a MSD 8572 distributor and the Digital 6 box, #6520. The 8572 is a vacuum advance and tach drive like I want. Anyone have any comments on these parts? Pros and cons welcome. Bert.

I am using the MSD tach drive distributor and a 6al box. The car starts well, idles well and runs to a higher rpm, before breaking down, than pre MSD parts. I am happy with the set up so far. I will also say I am not sure of the operating condition of the origonal distributor but the car did run ok.

Default on my 327 running MSD "ready to run " 8360

have a 327 in my 60 and running the MSD ready to run.. pop it in..set it and it's ready to run.. tach off generator so did'nt need to worry about tach.. but this MSD system..starts faster.. rev's higher.. no points to worry about wearing..and puts a drop more seat of your pants feel in the engine power.. (probably just beacuse old distributor was as bit umm old).. anyway i'm thrilled so far with the MSD "ready to run system" it does not require a box which i preferred

Consider the 6AL instead of the 6.

For some reason, I was thinking the digital 6 box would give me more precise control over limiting revs than the 6al box.
