Default Who Wants To See Ranger And I Race, Vette Vs Viper

most have been reading the post from RANGER with his 11.31 run .

i'm the one with the viper that was at the track that day. mine is not the
srt10 but the 2002 rt/10. i think it would be a blast to have RANGER and I
racing against each other. I WOULD LOVE TO RACE HIM for the
race to be fair we both should get 2 time trial runs then dial in from there.
it could be a one race showdown or best of 2out3. i would think lots of
vette/viper guys would show up for this. maybe make it a charity event
of some sort.

soooooooo who wants to see it?

I WANT TO RACE HIM, WHAT DO YA SAY RANGER IT WOULD BE A BLAST.

I would love to see it but can't make it this weekend unfortunately. Somebody video it for me.

Maybe they could have a Corvette Forum Edition of "Pinks".

What do you mean by dial in?

You were both there on the same day recently. You obviously know what you're doing at the strip as does Ranger. It seems the Z06 is a hair bit quicker.

Are you talking about an adjusted start place?

Sounds like Pinks, but for charity instead of titles.

Haha yeah no kidding Ranger only gets 2 passes before he gets the boot, but I guess without the shakedown run 2 is all he would need(assuming it is best 2 outta 3)

I think it is a great idea though, nothing like some friendly competition!

Hi Tom, My schedule rules out Atco on the 22d.

My next racing day will be at our club's semi-annual drag day at Capitol Raceway in Crofton, Maryland on Sunday, April 23. Last year the turn-out was about 80 Corvettes and an assortment of muscle cars.

Here is a link to the event flyer

We'd welcome you to the event Tom. And I'd be happy to make a few passes together heads-up. Your keen feel for the tree would still probably overwhelm the measely 2.5 tenth diff between our cars....

An alternative is hooking up at MIR. I haven't been tossed from there yet.

Take care.

Ranger

I don't get why the dont use the tracks timing system. It's annoying plus I hate all the argueing and negotiating for car lengths. It's not a car race it's just seeing who can convince the other guy his car is slower than it realy is.

1. Hot chick (who knows drag racing)
2. Use the tracks timing system
3. Head to Head races (negotiat for time I.E. I'll give you 2 tenths)

IMO.

I bet the show would do it with these two awesome cars!

The host is a TOOL!!! I love the idea of seeing the ET, and I like the idea of getting time on a delayd light like bracket racing. Doing car lengths is more like street racing though.Replace the dumb *** host!

It's a really cool premise but Yeah it would be a lot better.
I also hate that show "Pimp my ride" In the end people just end up with the same peice of crap they had to begin with it just has a cool (ugly) paint job and 30 TV's. For my money best auto show on TV is Overhaulin' They do the entire car and Foose does much better paint work. I saw them take a Magnum and add a blower and bad a** flame theme.

However I digress from the point of this thread. I say ranger wins it heads up (A close race) If I lived nearby I would pay atleast 30 bucks to get in and take video.

True, but you have to give props to a GEN II Viper that is nearly 10 years old running within 2/10's of the quickest production car in 2006 under $150,000. Not to mention Major was the pilot. Moral of the story - Don’t count your chickens before they hatch when racing a Gen II Viper.

Good points, Onerareviper. But there's one more point to not overlook. The C6Z is being driven by a guy (me) making his eighth pass on stock tires; I hope to do a bit better when I get the launch technique dialed-in.

But still in all, Wanted would tree my azzzzzzzz, for sure. He is a machine who's worked the tree since before there was a tree.

You can look at it this way, but keep in mind Viper has bolt ons and isn’t it ~5MPH down on trap speed is well?
