Default Z06 Targa has begun

We have just got our first new Z06 to convert into a targa. We will be measuring for body flex and we should have it complete in three weeks. I will post pictures as we progress.

Don't forget to give us the torsional rigidity numbers with the top off. Thanks,

Frank G.

Please do some 1/4 mile time before and after. Would be interesting to see a difference. Are you going to add subframe connectors or other mods to increase rigidity after chopping the top?

Come on!
Do you honestly expect any difference in 1/4 mile?

I look forward to seeing how this comes out. I got a price from John and it's really not that bad. The expenses that kill me is shipping my car.

Yes, not huge , but slight. Most performance cars in the convertible or targa version have slightly slower 1/4 mile times. Just curious.

Just curious, you guys seem to be concentrating on the fit&finish/feel kind of mods, like the steeering wheel mod previously posted. This is a serious question, not trying to imply anything, but do you guys actually do any mods that add to the performance of the car?

We do performance work, at the moment I'm doing an APS twin turbo on my C6 that we will be showing at the Birthday bash.

It's a customers car so I don't think I'll be doing any 1/4 mile runs. This is a brand new car that was picked up and dropped off to me.

You can always drive it up and save on the shipping.

I wonder if there is a time issue here. If this works, (and I hope it does) I wonder how long till the stresses start to show. Longterm thinking here.

Only because they usually weight extra 200-300lbs
Obviously, it won't be the case here.

I have a good source who said it will not effect the structual integrity and it is the same as when we did the C5.
