PIC of my Hood after fixing my Water Spot Damage..
Ok, so I $95 later I now have a great toy in addition to my Porter Cable.. I love my Hitachi Rotary.
So you are all probably sick of hearing my water spot problem..and how it came back after my PC/Menzerna treatment..
Well the Hitachi Rotary fixed them bastages for good!! I only had a problem working the Menzerna too long and I ended up with some holograms.. Today I hit every surface again with a white Pad and FPII using the PC..
I would have posted sooner but I had 8hours of yard work to do.. I am DEAD...
So here is a shot I just took in the garage..
I took it from the roof of the vette looking at my workbench.. If you look on the bench you can see my PC, Hitachi and Menzerna...
Flip the picture upside down and you can actually read the labels...
Here is the BEFORE PIC..

Thanks!! The rotary is very easy providing you exercise a little common sense... Which I did not at first.. I was working the Menzerna too long... and using too much angle on the pad.. I got it figured out...
But you really need to own both a Rotary AND a Porter..

so what's your final opinion? that the machine be held essentially flat on the surface?
And I think you said elswhere that you just used a white LC pad with the rotary and MIP to get the water spots off , right?
sorry - lost track, just need a recap of the bottom line.

I started using the White Pad with IP.. It really did not seem to get the spots off quickly.. so I went right to the orange pad..
I am sure I had 2 problems..
1. I did not keep the pad flat enough
2. I worked the Polish till it was almost gone.. This was my biggest mistake
I thought it would make buffing with the MF cloth easier if I wheeled off most of the dried residue..
I did not do this ALL the time..
At least I do know that worst case scenario, I could just break out the PC and the orange pad and go over it with IP again..
Luckily, I just need to do 2 passes with the PC/White Pad/FPII
this time I wiped it off Immediately after it turned clear..

That is some serious shine! Did the Porter Cable not work for you? I wish I had the cojones to attemp that on my navy blue C5. Knowing my luck, I'd get the faint swirls that I see on black vehicles on the road.
