The night before Racing..A Poem from me to you
The Night Before the ECS Corvette Challenge Opener
Twas the night before Racing
When all through the Shop
Not a tool was a turning
Not even a Mop
My DR’s were loaded in the hatch with care
In hopes that the morning, soon would be there
The Racers all settled in there comfy warm beds
While visions of .001 RT’s, danced in there heads
And the misses in her t-shirt, and I in my shorts
Had just settled down for a long early springs snore
When out on the Driveway there arose such a shout
My Vette had snuck out for a smoky burnout
And to the window I flew with my gin
Threw open the windows and watched with a grin
The smoke billowed forth like a cloud on the ground
And the smell of rubber wafted around and around
When out of the middle, what to my eyes did appear?
A Red Corvette hooking like a mother in 1st gear
On 2nd, on 3rd, on 4th gears she flew, I can’t rest
Cause crossing the traps yields a new personal best
Good luck and safe driving to all
