Default Would like some input on Lambo door kits

I have decided to try the lambo door mod and in researching the products and talking to the installer who has put the kits in before, two kits were mentioned. One is the vertical door kit that has been discussed here for 2795.00. The other is the Decah kit which I have seen on TV but could find no mention of here for 1299.00. Is there anyone out there with any thoughts on the products. Other than their price both have the same type of parts and the Decah kits comes with the wire loom extender and good tech support. I would find any input other than flames of great help in working on this.

I have GT Factory hinges on mine. They were $2000 + ~$1000 for install. They look cool and all, but they were NOT worth it for me. First off, I have not heard of a single kit (from ANY manufacturer) fit and open/close correctly, mine included. Second, you could take that nearly $3000 and put it into the engine or suspension for better performance. Please be sure that if you are serious about getting a kit that you find a reputable/experienced place to install and fit it.

My personal experience was a nightmare because I had a bunch of boneheads do the first install, and it was horrible. They ended up shaving my doors too much, leaving a HUGE gap between my windows and my seals so there was MAJOR water leaking, and also they would not align when they closed, therefore cracking up the latch area of the lock. I had to SUE them (I won) and find someone else to fix my setup. The other person fixed them to be 100x better than before, but STILL not perfect (windows will constantly catch on the lip at the top because of the air pressure in the car when closing). Please just be sure that you can think of nothing else to spend nearly $3000 on before putting in time, energy, and possibly large amounts of frustration into the lambo conversion.

The two most popular kits here on the forum seem to be the GT Factory Diablo and the Vertical Doors, Inc. kits.
I have the kit from Vertical Doors, Inc.
It requires some trimming of the inside panel of the fenders and doors but no cutting on the outside parts.
It also mounts to the factory hinge locations so no welding is required.

try corvetterestorationaz.com i saw two of the car they did this past week and with two different kits the one that opens similar to Z06 jims was awesome closes like stock but the one that opens to straight vertical did not close so well. i'm headed there on thurday and may order some. even if you arent close to this area you can call and at least get some good advice on them. they said both kits were in the same 2500-3000 price range installed.

Basically what i have for my 3000gt vr4. My dad wont let me take apart his c6 to look but i can't imagine it would be that hard to do. It took me about 8 hours by myself to do the whole kit.

If you have any experience working on a car yourself you should be fine with someone helping. The hardest part is getting the door realigned especially if you are by yourself.

I'll bet that will be a nice mechanical fix for them, for sure...

It could be a little easier on the eyes though
