My 2006 is well above that VIN range, but it’s making the same type of “Styrofoam squeak-snap-pop” sound described in the recall.
Production date was 12/15/05 and the VIN ends with 65112XXX

Ken, appreciate the info. I have been following these threads very closely as my 06 Coupe goes into production this week (TPW 2/27/06). My car was ordered ONLY with the solid panel, so if mine should fail that could be more problematic for folks like me.
I sure hope the targa top they install on a car being manufactured AFTER the problem has been officially recognized won't be afflicted with this problem. I'll be a very unhappy camper if my targa should fail this late into the 06 production cycle.
Cheers
Tom
