Default Stealthbox recovered with leather (pictures)

We just finished recovering the JL stealthbox with leather with steel gray leather, almost all of the car has been redone with leather.

Very nice.

Does the trunk light still project being partially blocked when dark out?

Yes, it gives partial amount of light, and what I liked about the stealthbox is that it saves you a lot of cargo space.

That looks great!

Any idea why the JL stealth box will not fit in a vert, as noted on their own webite?

I had this same question. I'm not sure of the definitive answer but from looking at all the pic's I could find, the problem appears to be that the Stealthbox fits into the rear corners of the vette. This would be in the "Trunk" on the convertible.

While you might be able to make it fit (I've not tried) in the convertible's trunk area, it would be separated from the cabin. In the coupe the hatch area is not separated from the cabin.

Very nice. I'd like to see the rest of the car ("redone with leather"). Do you have pics you can send to me or post?

It depends on how much you want to get done, in this car which is my personal car we did half of the dash, center console, center console lid, door panels, shift ***** and boots, steering wheel, and the seats. The whole dash its going to be recovered too. We are going to be offering also with LeMans Blue Metallic, Steel Gray, Black, Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic, and Millenium Yellow, so you could match your interior with your exterior.

Without question the leather upgrades look GREAT! Could you please comment on the sound system...

Did you change other OEM parts of sound system or just stealth box?
What amplification are you using to power sub...level controller used?
Did it overpower stock spkrs if you didn't change out?

I am strongly considering using JL's stealth box since they have alwasy offered premiere products, but I would really like to have some input from forum members who have already tried/changed.

I have long since quit the car audio competition circuit but still require some level of audio fidelity in my cars. As well documented, the Vette systems are horrific...I thought I could stand especially since putting on my Borla system but it's just intolerable to listen anymore. My Vette isn't a daily driver and I want to keep as stock as possible since I trade them every 3 to 4 yrs so want best overall improvement with least invasive approach and cost.

Thanks!

So, how does it sound?

Can we get a picture of it with the roof in the hatch? There was some discussion here the other day that there was no way the Stealthbox didn't interfere with top storage.
