All is well that ends well - No Tears No Excuses results
First, I'd like to thank all racers who made it to the track today. It's a pleasure racing with you guys. I'm very happy that everyone went home safe and just about everyone got a new personal best.
There was some DAMN good driving today. Dr. Ron dethroned me as the "bolt-on" king, Rob Z ripped off a 10.55 almost dethroning Brent (but not quite), Stealth clicked of a very impressive 9.55 at almost 150 mph , Neil and Edgar got their first 10 second slips, Kenny went 9.6X in a GTO , Alan's car went DEEP into the 9s with a solid 9.33, Ellis clicked off a new personal best, Brent ran mid 12s in a 4200 lb Chrysler , Nick Yoskin put his self-built turbo car into the 9s, I ran an 8.49 @ 156 (new best) with a 1.25 60', and last but not least Paul Major ripped off an incredible 8.70 in an IRS car!!!! Then he got his C6 Z06 and put THAT into mid 11s. Paulie should be going home smiling!
Thanks to everyone again for participating. I know it got off to an "uncertain" start when people cancelled but we managed to pull it off anyway.
Thanks to Joe Sway Jr. for doing such a nice job with the track prep. I improved my 60' by over 4/100 and that's a lot on a car like mine.
Thanks to Arnie Cohen for videos (and burning a DVD right at the track which I'll copy and distribute to all participants) and Matt from godragracing.com for coming down.
And we can't neglect Alex who did a kick *** job behind the lens as did Edgar with the videos. "F-body" Steve gets HUGE kudos for lining racers up in the grove all day. At least we found a use for him.
I was happy to see Cartek, ECS, and Vette doctors representing and supporting their clients. Awesome job, guys.
I hope all of you had a good time and I hope to do it again next year.
Paul

Thanks for having us Paul.. You did a great job and I sure appreciate all you did for us and me today.
Nothing could have made me happier than finishing with that new 10 second slip.
Thankfully Arnie was there with the video camera to back up my goof.

I would expect ALL of these times to be backed up tomorrow at the Final Corvette Challenge??
No tears, no excuses with spectators...
I will set a record tomorrow too, you can bet on it.

Paul Z. I heard you're previous best 60' was a 1.29.
Now multiple 1.25's ! That guy "F-body" must really know his stuff.
I also heard he lined up RobZ to a 1.41 60'!
I would say you guys really owe him
Congrats to all on a job well done, sounds like it was a great time.
Many personal bests to boot!

In my other post I forgot to mention Nick and his TT. A self built machine that gets into the 9s - Nick major kudos for all your hard work to put that machine together on your own.
Oh yeah - my 20 year son takes a pass (he has never made one before) and goes 11.56 @ 122 lifting twice to try and shift which was faster than all my previous runs.
Damn kids

Good Job on outting up with all the grief and pulling off a great day!!
Sorry I couldn't make it. I am off feeding my other vice in Vegas
PS. I don't think my car was in any shape for the event thanks to Carmen, Dennis and Joey .

Paul I was told that you pull together a great event and also provided a great show going down the track.
Sorry I missed meeting all you men, hopefully next time I can come out and play.
