Default Oil leak in diff area on new Z06

I will not be driving my Z this weekend.

Spotted drops of oil on the garage floor in the diff area. Looked under the car and saw lots of oil on a crossmember.

Onyl have 200 miles on the car.
I figured its best not to drive it until my guys at the dealer determine what the problem is.

It looks like the same problem I had with my 03 Z.
It was that pesky oil ring on the left diff cover.

Default Oil leak on new Z in diff area

I spotted several drops of oil on the garage floor when I backed the Z out today.

Looked under the car as best I could and saw several drops of oil on a cross meber below the diff.

Put the car back in the garage. I think its best not to drive it until my techs at my dealer determine what the problem is.

Reminds me of the problem I had with my 03 Z and that pesky o ring on the left diff cover.

I am a little upset. I was hoping to get a few thousand care free miles before the gremlins made there appearance.

Well it could be axle seals again, or overflow from the vent tube.

It was just an overfilled diff on my car, fresh lube to correct level corrected it.

Default C6 diff oil leak----follow up question-----

I jacked up the car and pulled the left (drivers side) rear tire off. The oil is dripping onto the top of the rear transverse spring. The oil is mostly on the left side.

Where is the over flow tube located and on what side on a C6 Z?

I hate to complain but this really killed the weekend. The weather is beautiful and I was really looking forward to driving the car today.

I the want to futher complicate the problem by burning the diff out.

All comments except about my spelling would greatly be appreciated.

Default C6 Z06 Diff oil leak--follow up question

One of the members replied to my orginal post stating that the leak could be coming from the diff overflow tube.

The oil is dripping onto the top of the rear transverse spring mostly on the left (drivers side).

Where is the over flow tube on a C6 Z? Is it on the drivers side of the car?

I merged your other thread, it helps keep things neat and reduces confusion for everyone.

My '04 Z was overfilled at the factory and fluid came out the vent only when fully warm and under hard driving. You probably can't reach the vent unless you lift the car to get to it. It is probably on the top left of the differential housing, same as the C5.

Why does everyone panic when hearing about one possible oil leak? The internet is really something......

Why? Because this was an issue GM never properly fixed with the C5 and we don't want to deal with it again.

I have no desire to ever take a car into a dealership for warranty work, as they always screw something else up in the process or scratch my paint.

Did anyone really expect to avoid the dreaded GM vette problems just because it is a z? GM still has not corrected the leaks going back to 1997

Guys, do we know where this tube exits?
