Dave Hill retiring????
Over in C5 General there is a thread on this.........says GM has announced the Dave is retiring and being replaced by a Tom Wallace.
Dave was and is a "corvette guy".........who is Tom Wallace?

I read Tom Wallace was involved with developing the '80s Buick Grand National Coupes.

Tom is vehicle line executive (VLE) of GM's small and midsize trucks, leading the development of a new family of products including the GMC Envoy XL, Envoy XUV, Canyon, Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT, SSR, Colorado and Buick Rainier. He began his GM career as a cooperative student with Buick Motor Division in 1970. Wallace moved through several positions prior to becoming a VLE in 1995, including vehicle chief engineer, assistant chief engineer for V-6 engines and leadership positions in a variety of product development areas including playing a key role in the development of the legendary Buick Grand National sedans of the mid-1980's. In 1993, Wallace became executive director of the Quality Center for engineering and design operations. Wallace earned a bachelor of sciences degree in mechanical engineering from General Motors Institute (GMI) in 1971. In 1980, he earned a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University as a part of the Sloan Fellowship program. Wallace is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers and Sports Car Club of America, where he races his own Chevrolet Camaro sports car on the weekends.

That's amazing, he didn't mention a thing to me at dinner last night. He did make me pick up the check though, should have realized that he now has a retirement income I learned a long time ago that we can all be easily replaced--e

What a way to retire, though. You build your dream car and go out on a high note. Sounds like a plan to me.

Unless dave mclellan was only C4, each VLE/chief eng has had 2 generations, I really didn't expect hill to be VLE through the C7.
Tom does have sme big shoes to fill though. Good luck to him.

well isn't the important question, what does Tom think of a Z06 convertible?
