Default Ls6 Tr 224/224 Untuned Results

To start off I DO NOT OWN A Z06....

I own a 2004 automatic with 2.73 gears coupe...

MY TRACK IS SLOW (raceway park in Oahu Hawaii) so dont flame me...The record for the quickest bone stock 02 Z06 is only 12.7 at 112 mph (and most dont do better than 12.9-13.1 stock)

So heres the break down......

Bone stock...299 rwhp...13.5 at 101-103 mph AVERAGED 13.6 at 102.0 mph

Stock LS6 head/cam conversion.....340 rwhp...13.1...at 104.5-106 mph AVERAGED 13.3 at 105.3 mph

LS6 H/C and Vararam.......345 rwhp.....13.1...at 105-106 mph (once hit 12.9 at 108.5 on a windy night/ out of HUNDREDS of runs never able to duplicat again...) AVERAGED 13.2 at 105.8 mph


Tonight with the stock LS6 heads Vararam and UNTUNED TR 224/224 I averaged .....


13.2 at 108 mph......

Hit four 108 mph's tonight....I just couldnt hook though...I got all 2.25 60 fts....

I was hot lapping and it's a good thing...The track closed due to rain after only 2 hours....


ALL AND ALL IM HAPPY SO FAR.....MY SHIFT POINTS AND A/F ARE ALL WAY OFF RIGHT NOW (STOCK LS1 TUNE AND CHANGING GEARS AT 5800 RPMS ON THE AUTOMATIC) TILL THEY DO THE HP TUNER DYNO TUNE...(HOPEFULLY TOMORROW)....

Even despite the no tunning...I still picked up a solid 2 mph...I cant wait to see how much I get with the tune.....

Also....Ive pretty much reached my goal....Tonight with 2.0's or 2.1 60 fts I would have EASILY been a high consistent 12 second car...The tune will just get me that much deeper into the 12's.


The koolest thing was that there was a nice guy there with a 1998 automatic with 3.15 gears....bbk shorty headers.....patriot heads...and a comp 224/224 587 cam! and no cats with a cat back...lowered on factory bolts....

he pulled a 12.3 at only 107.4 mph!!!!????? Off a 1.9 60 ft BUT HE DID TRAP 90 MPH IN THE 1/8 AT 7.9 SECONDS.....His highest mph of the night was a 109.6 on a 12.5 run..

WE WENT AND RACED ON THE FREEWAY FROM A 70 MPH ROLL AND i PULLED HIM!!!!!?????


ANYWAYS....Ill post up what I get on the dyno from it tuned with HP tuners as soon as possible....Then Ill post up some stock LS6 (tr 224/224 cam only) tuned numbers and track improvments...

wow a lot of that has me baffled. First off, I can't believe how little of a gain you saw out of the vararam. I have heard from many people gaining 3mph in the 1/4, yet you only gained about .5mph. It almost seems like something about that track kills the top end of the cars running on it, lol.

As far as the guy with the 98 auto, thats unbelievable how low his mph is with heads, cam, headers, no cats & catback. Was he tuned? Did he have a CAI? and you pulled him on the highway?? How close was it?

PS-what is the elevation at that track? I'm assuming the DA must really kill peoples times bad.

He said he pulled 113 mph before but he was messing with his HP tuners on this night....

Ive heard the DA is 1500....Not sure...But the guy who told me has a low 10 second Mustang and took 3rd in the last srteet car challange so Ill take his word for it.

This was what are time slip looked like...

85 mph 90 mph
13.2 12.3
108 107.6



He had a great hook vrs my horrible spinning past the 60
His 1/8 et and mph totaly destroyed mine
But if I had hooked and cut a 1.9 Id atleaste be around 8.3
ALL in all his 1/8 is just faster and a better set up

But towards the end I go from 85 mph to 108 ( a 23 mph improvment)
He goes from 90 mph to 107 ( only a 17 mph improvment)

You eliminate the 60 ft and the 1/8 ( like we did on the freeway from the 70 mph roll) and I have the quicker machine.

Cant wait till she's tuned.
