Default LG headers installed & Hall tech Stinger Dyno results

I installed my LG's a week ago and then took it up to A & A for one of Charley the Wizards tune ups, other than the headers and a Halltech stinger it is bone stock, Dynoed at 388 HP and 374.5 Torque, Fuel / Air trimmed out to 12.9. Sure do love these Z cars.

Im trying to post the Dyno sheet, I may have to my buddy Steve for that

Now for some track time to see what it if its paying off.

So, the LG's are making a significant amount of horsepower. I have a similar set up without the LG's but with the addition of a X-pipe and Borla Stingers. 375rwhp/360rwtq. In this case, I should be pushing around 390 with LG's which is my target. However, the LG's with the X-pipe and Borla Stingers, everybody said it may be to loud.

I'm running the Stock Ti Z exhuast with LGLT's, and I realize that I'm going from a 3 " exhaust to a 2 1/2 " stock exhuast, this has to be hurting me a little but it has the perfect sound I was looking for, in fact people who have been following me on some spirited driving runs have commented on how good it sounds. When at idle it sounds stock, but WOT is a different story.

If you have a Borla Stinger system on now I would give them a go, you may pick up a few HP.

BTW, this is a stock 04Z with a Halltech intake and it dynoed a 388 HP and the torque was 375

I just want to give you credit for the tremendous hp pick up. I just think the LG's would be too loud in my neighborhood. But I want them so bad just for that kind of horsepower. Thanks for the response.

Slo99 on here is making like 385hp with only a tune and the Halltech TRAP and a thermostat. I would like to see him make over 400RRWHP with headers.

If I can recall some Z's need a cam & header to make 400 hp. I guess an extra 10 hp from stock makes a big difference when you're adding the numbers. Some Z's starts 340-350hp and good ones 350-355hp on the dyno. So from 355 hp you don't have far to go to get to 400 hp. My $.02 again.

Nice numbers! It is great to see such strong numbers with the limited mods you have done. I had my car dyno'd a couple of months ago and it pulled 359 with no mods on the motor at all. The tuner (who is a straight up guy) told me that he could see that I was leaving some hp on the table and with tuning I should be good for another 10-15 horses. That remains to be seen, but it would be great to pick up that much hp with just a tune.

I would love to slap a set of LG's on the car, but I am reticent since we have such strict smog laws here in CA. I like the TI's, but I need a little more sound...maybe I'll take the chance on the headers!

Nice numbers Are you running cats or an off road set up. I am also planning long tubes in the near future, want to get to the track one more time for a good baseline.

I had similar set-up going back to Corsa Pros, for me it was too loud, put stock Ti back on and sound was as you say "perfect" ... my mph in 1/8th was 100-101mph before and after, if any loss of hp it had to be insignificant...

The LG's are not that loud if you have the stock Z06 Ti - exhaust, just cruising or at idle it sounds stock, at WOT it really wakes things up

I know this is probably the wrong forum catagory but I have a few mods and you guys are scaring the hell out of me. I just bought a new set of xs longtubes with the crossover and right now I have the stock exhaust until right after the cats is a borla cross over and the dreaded stinger setup. My wife calls me in the morning and other times because she can hear me leave the store 3/4 of a mile away when I bang it out through 4th. I have a maggie making 10 lbs and meth on it . I always blame someone else because im a guy... She claims she can distinguish it from the unique sound the charger im sure. Now I read your post and I have not put them on. I drive this 60 miles a day to work and road coarse onthe weakend. Soooo how much gain should I see and did I just screw up doing the headers with the stingers?

Use the headers and the stock titanium- its the best sound combo-

of all my C5Z's, that was the best- the borlas are loud and droney- i had them on 1 Z and it gave me a headache.

Thanks for the response. I think my buddy at the corvette shop saved a set for me.
I will have to call him tomorrow and see.
