A New World Record - $110,000 for a new Z06!!
I just returned from following an Allied Transporter full of Corvettes from Bowling Green to Mesa and Scottsdale, Arizona. He was driving to Brown and Brown Chevrolet in Mesa and I met him while he was dropping some convertibles and coupes along with a black Z06 next to be unloaded.
I called the Corvette sales guy at B&B, Rich answered and told me this black Z06 with navigation, polished wheels and 2LZ which has a msrp for $71,000 more or less was sold to his customer for $110,000.
A new world record for a new Z06!
So, somebody with more money than brains is paying $39,000 in pure greedy cash mark-up to Brown & Brown plus the extra sales tax of 8%, about $3,120 with the extra vehicle tax of the additional $39k to be able drive off today in a new black Z06 from Brown & Brown, an Autonation dealer.
A few weeks ago, Brown & Brown had sold a black and yellow Z06 for $100,000 each to some other idiots, so this $110,000 sale must have been another cause to celebrate.
While I was fortunate to get a one block long test drive, from 1st to 2nd to 3rd gear change, as the Z06 was being driven to the new car prep area, it did feel great to have that much power and that great noise from the pipes. But NOT for $110,000!!
So, unless somebody else has gone over this amount - the largest, greedy mark-up of pure cash for nothing sale has gone to the idiot buying his black Z06 from Brown & Brown in Mesa, AZ for $110,000.
What a shame it has to happen to such a nice Corvette.
BTW, the Allied driver told me the drivers are working around the clock delivering all new Corvettes as fast as they can drive across the USA with just a few days at home each month, so if you're waiting on delivery, that Corvette is coming soon.
My advice, call Kerbecks and Maxie Price for a new Z06.

I know of a Leman's Blue on the ground in Metro Detroit, Fully Loaded, 2LZ, NAV, Polished wheels, $71,895.00 .....nice but not what I would order.
It can be had Monday for $75,895.00. Only kicker must finance 90%through GMAC for minimum of 30 days, dealer /zone rep requirement for this special allocation....
PM or email me if you are serious and looking for one like this.
Sounds like someone from AZ should buy it........or maybe I will and take a 2500 mile road trip and park it with a sign across from the dealer......

Not that it matters, but I think the sales guy at B&B is full of #@&*!
WHY would ANYONE pay that much over MSRP? Ok, I can see if he paid 80K or so, but was there a bidding war for this car? I don't think so!
The more money people have the less apt they are to spend that kind of "stupid" money.
The sales guy "Rich" was %^&$# with your head!
Just my 2 cents!

Why would anyone care what another pays for a car, a house, a dog, a horse, etc?
I too think it foolish to pay this kind of money for the car (if in fact he/she did), but the buyer doesn't think it is foolish.
Maybe it was Leno, Bill Clinton or Reggie Jackson! If that is the case, then 20 years from now it will sell for more because one of these people owned it!

If someone wants to pay more, more power to them. It is only the business of two people. The buyer and the seller.

Did he show you the contract/PURCHASE AGREEMENT? Will you guys quit believing all the crap 'salesman' are telling you about how much someone paid........it is totally within their best interest to tell you the biggest 'story' to get you and everyone else to buy into this idea that these cars are selling right and left for insane money.......
lastly--should the sale be true--look where it is coming from...you guys have any idea of how many retiree's are floating around Snottsdale --excuse me, Scottsdale Arizona with money to burn? That town has many MANY folks very interested in showing off to the neighbors and having the 'newest' toy around. Christ, if they had their way McDonalds would be required to have valet parking..don't use sales there as a Judge of value...heck they would rather pay $110,000 vs $75,000 just to brag about how hard the cars are to get, how rare and how to HAD to pay over $100,000 but thanks to their great business skill they were able to float the $$ with no problems and get one of the first cars made etc etc...It becomes a bragging issue with them...heck they will rarely get driven and will make gret deals on the used car market when the owner chases after the next new best thing....

People out there have alot of money, it's a drop in the bucket.. Do I care hell no.. wish I could drop that coin without a second thought
What's worse to me than complaining about someone overpaying msrp , is someone whining about someone who can
