Default Help Crack NAV Screen Diag PIN Code

Original Thread, check out posts #16 and #38
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...p?p=1552330666

Quote from above thread:
There is also a debug/diag screen you can access by holding your finger on a point at the top of the screen. after 5 seconds, a virtual keypad comes up and depending on what code you enter, settings are visable/open to change. for example, one code will let you only view most of the settings, another will let you view all of the settings, and still a third will let you start changing the settings. i asked the engineer if there was a way to turn off the lockout feature this way and he replied no. I also asked about MP3 playback and some sources being louder than others. His response was that the levals of the sources were set in the compiled software and the mp3 playback capability will be comming soon.

I checked the one and two digit codes, including 01-09, so you can mark those out.

Here is what that site says:

"I have a DTS but the nav system is essentialy identical. I know you all have had the 1791 code for a while. This one allows you to play the DVD while in drive. I have another code, and I didn't think anyone would be too interested in it, but since the 1791 code is so popular I figured I'd share it. This provides access to the general diagnostic features of the nav system. You can see satellite signal info, all the nav systems inputs, do tests of the mic and speakers, check software version, etc etc. There are several calibrations that you can make, and I suggest you avoid these unless you know what you're doing. I hope I'm not opening pandora's box here: 1971 (yes, very similar to the other code.) Have fun."

Scott

PS: the system is by denso and is virtually identical to one used by lexus. This might help in finding more codes for it.

On the map screen select MENU, you will get the menu screen with the 4 major boxes. Just above them top center/right there will be some yellow letters. Put your finger just to the right of the yellow letters in the blank space and apply pressure for about 5 sec's and the key pad will come up.

Found the screen. I will try a block of numbers as well. In my mind though, I would think that the pin might be related to the car or to the nav unit's serial number. Anyone gone there yet?

In the same thread some posters reported that "1971" didn't do anything, so don't be surprised if it doesn't work.

I'm a little confused. Found the screen where you are asked to enter a pin code. If I enter Code #1791, will I be able to play a DVD in the Nav DVD slot and while moving? Please advise.

I wish! It did nothing when I tried it except return me to the MENU screen.

First and formost we need to find the CODE. I do not think you will enable the playing of DVD movies with this function. When we find the code then we will know what this diagnostic screen displays, and what if anything we can do with it. Until then we are all flying blind.

Jim
I've tried the last 6 of my VIN, date, etc. Of course there are a fairly large number of combinations here. I'm inclined to think it probably doesn't have anything to do with the car, as you might well need the diagnostics when installing a new unit in a car and if it had to read the VIN to get the code and it had a problem reading the VIN and you couldn't get into the diagnostics to figure out the problem ... And the nav's serial number isn't obvious, if they planned on the tech having to take the nav out before accessing the diagnostic screen they could have just put a jumper plug on the back or something.
Well, okay, I've seen some stuff designed that way. Or not designed. But a fixed code still seems more likely.
