Default sorry for the delay

Sorry for the delay. The reason it took a little while was do to the wheather it has been raining since last saturday. The reason we did not use the 1 3/4 it shrouds the exhaust ports on the heads. Our 1 7/8 c6 header cleared the ports but still did not allow a 100% unristriced flow. We were not 100% happy and we are making a few changes to the current design to provide all our customers the best product we can.
AS far as the dyno numbers here are the results with the current C6 1 7/8 design and air cleaner mod

baseline on the test car is as follows 2006 Z06 400 miles
Horsepower 454 HP
Torque 425 TQ

---------------------------------------------------------------

Our 1 7/8 x 3 C6 headers with 3 x 3 catted x-pipe and air cleaner mod
Horsepower 489.3 Hp
Torque 466.7 TQ

The air fuel ratio was 11.6 it really needs to be tuned to lean the engine out to arund the optimum air fuel ratio of about 12.8 to 13.0 {that will put us over the 500 hp mark with the current design} sorry for the graph it is a photo of a fax

Default 1 3/4 "Shrouds the Exhaust Ports."

Gee, I think I may have mentioned that large air pumps like large plumbing....oh well...

Great numbers George! Our Science project didn't fair so well as we actually lost a couple horsepower. We are anxiously looking for the first order as we already have a waiting list for the product.
With those #s and the redesign I hope to see the Kooks as being the Most Powerful C6Z06 Headers available!

John,

What size headers did you try on your project car? What was the baseline rwhp?

Thanks,

Sanjay

12.8-13 is way too lean IMO. Shoot for a safe 12:1 afr, maybe 12.2 - keeps a margin of safety in there.

Are you using ceramic (zeolite) or metal substrait catcons?
I have heard that the metal substraight cats have lower restriction?

Dual or single catcon?
Can the 1 7/8 pipes handle the port size or will you have to go to 2 inch?
What rpm did peak torque and hp occur baseline & with mods?
Thanks for the post and up date

I have your 1 7/8 headers on my C5. Based on what you said, your C5 headers won't 100% fit the LS7 heads if I try to put them on my 427. Can you confirm?

1 7/8 Works great. 2" is to big for this application. We are going to modify the flange for proper fitment. As far as the C5r head, It has a raised exhaust port, so we already have a speacial flange for that.
