Default 2006 Z06 baseline dyno numbers from LG Motorsports

The graph will be up later tonight. for now I will just post the numbers.

443.rwhp 411. rwtq

The car has about 55 miles on it. I varied the power during the drive over here to help with a small break in. I am sure they will loosen up but the hp will probably not go up much.

The car is owned by Tim K the owner of Red Line Oil company. It was Purchased at Les Stamford Chevrolet and shipped from Bowling Green, Ky direct to Young Chevrolet here in Dallas for us to pick up.

We will use my own Z06 as a test car then transfer the best combination to the Redline Oil car. (notice the car is RED)

Torque MGMT is horrible. We will not be able to tune these cars for a while until the software is sent to us. It is not available at the moment.

Thanks
Lou Gigliotti LGM

So when should we expect your 500rwhp headers & cam dyno.... maybe around midnight?

Andi

PS hopefully i'll be there in about a week to dyno mine.

About a 100 more than a base C6? If torque management is out of wack percentage wise there should be more on the table than a base C6. Lou do you think everything will get better gains than the C6 (Example bigger motor so headers should give you more?) Thanks and congrats.

Headers tomorrow. Then we are building a mild custom cam until we can get the proper tuning.

Lou, can you give me some feedback on the handling of the car. I passed on the C6 in large part due to the front end losing its composure under hard braking and felt that the transitions were a little sloppy as well. Does the ZO6 do away with these characteristics or is there still some room for improvement? Your comments are very much appreciated.

Default I would estimate 505 FWHP

A few years ago I had my 99 C-5 dynoed only mod corsa cat back exhaust it dynoed at 306 RWHP
If the same loss % thru the drive line as the ZO6 the following calculation results
(350/306)X441.9= 505.44 fwhp
BTW I think 442 RWHP is great and the SAE rating SEEMS to be spot on IMHO......
OK I have my fire proof suit on FLAME AWAY
I think that it will not take the tuners long to exceed 500+ RWHP and it might not take all that much in the way of mods cam and headers could really help.

Ok
first, the fuel better be 93 ocatane fuel but it came from the dealer with fuel. I hope that they didn't put 91 or worse yet 87 in it. I didn't hear any knock so I suspect either 91 or 93.
I will check with the dealer tomorrow.

Next, it is not my car. My car comes in either Friday or Monday next week. So if anyone wants my C6 we can do a good deal (down to the wire) and the dealer will do an "in and out" and run it through their books to save me sales tax.

Handling? I don't know. It is firmer than the old Z06 but since I don't own it, I kept it straight and level. I will let you know about the handling when I get my car in here next week.

Ok graph. two runs back to back , Best numbers so far: Best hp 443, best torque 413 see graphs. Air fuel was near 12:1 and a little richer in the early rpms.

More updates tomorrow unless my guys get swamped.

Attn C6 Corvette guys. LG Pro long Tubes and Halltech stinger package $2525 installed and tuned or $1999 +shipping shameless plug!

Those torque numbers seem a little low for a 427 , I'm sure there's more potential down the road , not real impressive to me for 65,000.00+ .

I know the stock cam that is in it and they killed the low end torque on purpose with the cam in it.

Every tuner in America will fix that as soon as the LS-7 edit is available. it has a totally different PCM than the LS2 for 2005 and the same as the LS2 for 2006 Go figure.

We will start with the LG headers first. then just a mild cam to tweak it a bit until tuning is available.

There is plenty of potential waiting with some minor mods.

I don't know if any of you have seen the air filter but I am amazed it even lets any air in.

Jim Hall to the rescue!

Thanks guys

Lou G

PS, Dyno jet.
