What's up with Tire Rack?
I'm not bashing them, just trying to be a good member and support a "CorvetteForum" vendor...
I've e-mailed the forum member (luke@tirerack.com) several times thru this site and standard e-mail with "0" response. I've e-mailed their customer service mailbox several times with "0" response. Since I'm busy during the day, I don't really have time to pick up the phone and call...just trying to get details re: Corvetteforum discount and shipping charges.
Anyone else have this problem?

Call a local shop or garage. Spend money in your community. Why give it to some internet site. Without the local gargae, who else is going to do the mounting.

I always just call. They are fast, speak english and are very professional, and I don't think I have ever had to wait on hold either.
The call usually only takes a couple minutes if I know what I want.
They also keep a record of my address and the address of the shop that installs the tires. It is really quite painless.

However, I will use the local garage to mount them.

I ordered online from them (in 2002) - no problems whatsoever, wheels were delivered within a few days, tires mounted and balanced....

What's the point of having an Internet biz if you aren't going to cater to the Internet clientele?

I had Kumho's before...and never again! I decided to spend a bit more and went with Michelin sport PS2. It is like a whole new car! I can't believe that a different tire can make such a huge difference. The Kumhos had a very little grip, and were really bad about following ruts in the freeway and roads. The Michelins don't follow ruts at all. And they stick significantly better.

My car only gets about 500 mi. per year and all of that driving is "cruising" the beach route. I do no "performance driving" nor do I drive in the rain or on the freeway. I don't think I've ever had my car over 55mph!

Kumhos (so I heard and read) are as bad as Sumitoyo tires which I had the pleasure to own for two years... they pull your vehicle left and right, any little road imperfection is noticeable in the steering wheel.... My Sumitoyos were really that bad, no kidding here..... I think it was Megaladon who reported a similar problem with his tires a few months ago ...
i have not heard any good Kumho-feedback yet..... just my 2cents....

Look at these Fuzion tires, they say they're made by Bridgestone ($103/$108)

Regardless, I already own the rear's...gotta match the front. I don't go fast enough to worry about the ride/tracking. Just cruising the beach...

I had Kumhos a few years ago (255/50-17). Think the model was the "450". It was a very good tire. Almost as good as the Bridgestone RE-730's I replaced them with. Never had any pulling and grip was great.
The Bridgestone RE-730's I have now (also in 255/50-17) are the best tires I've had yet so I'm sticking with them.

had good luck with tire rack. Makes sense to me when ordering 4 tires. Just bought a single at the tire store. After shipping charge and waiting and lugging and asking them to install a tire they didn't sell it's not worth it to me for just 1.

Clarification: The KDWS does come in 255/50. The tires I was interested in, the KDW directional, does not...my bad.
