Default tire locking up

Guys i am getting this code every once in a while C1243 BPMV Pump Motor Stalled but i am having another major problem which is that under hard braking the RF tire locks and the ABS dispalys as activated but the tire remains locked the whole time all other three tires function well with the abs. Do you think this is a problem with the module or the sensor itself are they related or have nothing to do with each other.

Thanks,
Ralph

I see you have a 98. You can either have a rear OR front mounted EBTCM. The rear one looks like this at the rear of the differential:

Or you could have a front mounted EBTCM that is mounted in front of the engine:

Please let me know where yours is located. I will help you through this but I need to know where yours is located.

No,, it is NOT suppose to do that! Let me dig into the system and come up with some recommendations for you.

You stated that you cleaned the stud on the end of the motor BUT did you clean the ground on the chassis? The ground on the chassis will be on the passengers side of the car on the rear of the frame rail. Look in the wheel well just aft of the rear tire. On the frame rail (straight in) will be a stud with an eyelet type ground wire. That is the other end of the wire that is on the EBTCM motor. Unless both of those are making good contact, it could be causing this issue.

Let me know how you make out. Make sure that you spray it well with WD-40 and clean it well with a wire brush before you attempt to take the nut off the stud.

Here is a picture of the ground connector (Chassis Ground G-101) and the EBTCM ground eyelet connection.

Clean it well and reinstall.

Default fixed it

ok herewas the problem that was causing the code the wire at the green wire at the withe connectore right before the hub had broken internally nothing was visible from out side but the copper part internally was damaged. I cut spliced the cable and now it fixed. Check your terminal connections at the hubs especially if your getting codes from the front tire sensors. Bill Thanks for all your help and guidance i need to resolve one last thing my right front tire still locks under heavy braking but does not cause any codes to come up. Can this be the abs unit that is damaged internally ( actuators or something) the sensor appears to be fine it measures 1,147 ohms so its within specs. Let me know what you think, are this units fixable or will i be out of 1,500 dollars soon?

Thanks,
Ralph

See I didnt get any codes just the right front ( and sometimes the left rear with it ) was locking on me. I yanked the fuses and it fixed the braking issue ( brakes hard and fast with balance as it should be but no abs or tc systems ) Now I get codes for the abs system and tc plus "service vehicle" but its just because of the fuses. If i reinstall the fuses the codes go away but the problem comes back. I suspect we have the same issue now

I have a video of the braking system failure that almost caused me to wreck. The wheels locked unexpectedly and really ****ed me.

Default whow

dude are you saying that when you pull fuses from the abs and tcs you cars brakes work fine, i mean they dont lock up? They should under heavy braking. I believe your problem is opposite of what i am having. My tire locks under excessive braking, your seems to brake on its own at its own will, now that **** is dangerous several ppl on the forum complained about this and one even wrecked his car because of this. Be very carefull

There are two different types of EBTCM electrical packages. If you have the later type, it will look like this:

If you have the early type, it will look like this:
