LS2 parts needed to install LS2 block in C5.
If you go to an LS2 block these are the LS2 parts you will need. The remaining LS1 parts work.
Lifter retainers
Valley cover
Timing chain cover
Timing chain and gear
Timing chain dampener
Cam sensor and electrical connector
Tap block for LS1 knock sensors
Plug PCV outlets on rear of each valve cover(2)
Run PCV lines per LS6
LS2 head bolts
Lifter retainers
Valley cover
Timing chain cover
Timing chain and gear
Timing chain dampener
Cam sensor and electrical connector
Tap block for LS1 knock sensors
Plug PCV outlets on rear of each valve cover(2)
Run PCV lines per LS6
LS2 head bolts

Joel,
Go here and see the 3rd photo down. The hole is in the back where the starter would be. Same for other side. It misses the starter by about an 1/8th".

It will be right in front of the starter. It will be obvious with the starter in place. Go to the bottom of the linked article and see the complete engine. I needed a magnifying glass to see the black LS2 sensor bolted on, in front of the starter.
