Default Seeking Advice on Removing Watermarks from Sprinkler

'01 silver grey vert. parked in the sun at a picnic and some nitwit turned on a lawn sprinkler next to my car. Wound up with serious water marks. Tried to wax it off with MacGuires which reduced, but did not eliminate, the water marks. I suppose with a lot of elbow grease and wax the marks will go away, but there must be an easier way.

Any advice? I am afraid to use anything abrasive.

I had this happen and I used Paint Cleaner and then Scratch X.That did the trick for me.A little elbow power and it`ll be as good as new.

Rest assured, Meguiar's ScratchX is not abrasive enough to harm your paint at all, and it is perfectly suited for this task -- water spots that have been baked in for days or a few weeks. Have used it myself on a black car left in the sun with the same problem -- with perfect results.

Just use it with a terry towel, as printed on the instructions. No need for a Porter-Cable.

This happened to me earlier this summer. Distilled white vinegar took off all of the water spots. I applied and removed using microfiber towels.

I would try a product like Zaino Fusion, Menzerna FPII, Poorboys 1 or 3M SSR 39009. If you have a PC that will help make the job go quicker. I had this happen to me once, it really sucked, and with black the car is so hot it really gets baked on good.
