They have never been an option on the Z (weight savings) same is true for 12 disk changer, passenger power seat, trunk covers, power antenna, telescoping steering column.
Lots of us install some of these items.

I installed the PIAA driving lights with an OEM switch. Total cost less than $180. I find I seldom use my headlights at night with the PIAA's unless I'm at freeway speeds.
The PIAA's are far better than the OEM fog lights. Your better off not having them in the first place and installing the PIAA's.

Make sure they get adjusted correctly, particularly if you run them as low beams sometimes. They put out great light, but are real annoying to oncoming drivers if set too high.

What's the $180 parts list?
I am thinking of putting them on my Vette since it didn't come with them.
TIA,
Joe

.........Any questions?
Also, the PIAA lights greatly enhance night visibility vs. the crappy headlights. And to call the Z06 a "muscle car" doesn't do it justice-- it does far more than go in a straight line.

I highly recommend you get the fog light/trunk release switch panel from a coupe/vert; there are instructions on this forum on how to wire the PIAAs into the wiring that the stock fog lights uses (even though the Z doesn't have the lights, it has the wiring) changing out your trunk release only switch for the fog/trunk switch takes all of 15 seconds. You can get the switch panel from forum sponsors Fitchner Chevy, or Fred Bean Pontiac for about $35 last time I checked.
Overall, the install is easy and the forum instructions have pictures.
