Cheap block, cheap crank, cheap rods, and cheap pistons, I can see that. I can buy a house for 8 grand too, I just wouldn't live there. Not trying to start anything but I know what this stuff cost, 921 springs, AFR heads, Stainless steel(going up in price everyday).

Randy
actually the 402 is affordable & will make screamin power past the ls1 stock block lets put the afr heads on the 402 along with a 1 & seven eights headers & a mild cam better yet this is what slp did with this set up SLP Performance Parts knows all of this and has exploited the availability of the iron blocks to develop an affordable 402-inch short-block stroker assembly that has succeeded in making 580 hp. It's arguable that the rest of the bolt-ons to complete the engine adds considerable expense, but with time and energy spent searching and carefully selecting components from the GMPP catalog and the internet, it's possible to put together an affordable screamer. i do realize lou is trying to make money but the parts arent cheap everything is forged ross pistons ,eagle rods thats not cheap parts & if i am gonna fork out 7k rest to assure it will be on a 402

Hi Guys,

Keep in mind that this package price includes LG Headers.

The package for 7k+ included AFR heads with upgraded parts. Plus the other parts mentioned including headers, cam, and all the other parts listed, along with Labor to install, and LS 1 edit tuning.
The heads as delivered plus the headers alone cost over $4000.

So is any package that is installed and tuned worth the money? Yes, because some people don't want to be their own doctor.

It all comes down to value. If you do your own work, then you don't want to pay the paycheck of a mechanic to do your work or pay for the shop or pay for the LS1 edit. And for those of you that can do your own work, feel free to call us for what ever parts you need.

For those of you who want us to do your work, please call us.

Thanks

Lou Gigliotti

This thread really is not directed at you. It is for someone that wants a pro tuner to do the work for them. Your comments are not relevant to the thread topic.

The price is in the ball park, but when you include headers, spring upgrade (big ticket items) and tunning it make the price look real high. Then include the incidentals like lifters, push rods, gaskets it all adds up.

Lou, any more details about your G5X1-E cam? Like results in a 02-04 Z06, with stock heads and LT's.

Lou, quick question. I've got a G5X3 cam sitting in my garage, can it be used with an unmilled head with no P/V clearance problems?

Including mine.

BTW, to go back on topic, that is a killer deal for all those components. Use the G5X3 cam and the 59cc heads AFR, and you'll end up with a C6-Z06 killer with somewhere in excess of 450+rwhp/420rwtq on pump gas...and those are conservative estimates.

Hi Don. Back in '96 I had a 502 stroker built. Cost me 6K. Hate to think what it would cost now.

But can a stock A4 transmission handle that much power? Or am I dropping funds to mod the tranny as well? I know the MN6 can hack it. But I don't have an MN6....

Hi guys,

I am waiting to get on a plane from the race in California. We had a great weekend. LG Pro Long Tube Headers took the front row in qualifying.

I probably should not post the results but you can watch it on Speed TV at 1:30 pm eastern time Sunday, (tomorrow.)

When I get back, I will jump in the thread and fill in the blanks.

I will get with Chris at ECS and work out a header deal so he can offer the same package if he wants. ECS has done some great work in the NE.

Thanks guys

LG
