Default Z06 Delayed - Dealer Memo

Can't believe no one has posted this, but I have a copy of a dealer letter dated Jul 6, 2005.

Quote:
Z-06 Corvette - Has been delayed a month and now will not go into production until sometime approximately between 8/20 and 9/30.....

What a major bummer...... I was expecting to pick mine up in Sept....:bang

Is that a letter TO dealers from GM or from a dealer to their sales staff? If it's from a dealer and it's someone other than a forum dealer, it's probably

dexter:

It's from a person within GM to the dealer. I could post a copy of the email but I don't think I should do that, my dealer contact was nice enough to "prove" to me that he received the email by faxing me the entire document.
I basically had told him since I hadn't seen any thing on our forum from our sponsor dealers, so I was having trouble believing it. So he faxed it over. It's real, nothing was "blacked" out, so I see the complete document including email addresses of GM folks.

I think the CHP put in a request to GM so they can get their men ready.

Everyone in SoCal...clear the road when Tom gets his car. He took me for a ride in his red 01 Z06 at an event at his place in 9/00 and I about peed in my pants.

Can't wait to see your pics, Tom. What color you getting? Yellow?

You're full of !!! lol

He took me for a ride in his new C-6 and "I" sucked up almost all of the passenger seat!!! He said something about a 2 day high performance driving course gave him the ability to turn corners at about 100 MPH...and he did!

Holy crapola, I told him I'd never been in a car driven that fast on surface streets...that got a laugh out of him.

We all can't wait for him to get his yellow ZO-6 and be the first to get ZO-6 museum delivery like he did with the first museum delivery of the new C-6!!!

Go Tom!!!

All due respect but Conti wasn't the man on this story! ...... Great guy but he obviously wasn't told of this little item.... and I didn't need him to confirm it - I have the email..... So a basic forum member scooped ALL the dealers who post here. Score one for the little guy.

Yes - according to an email from the zone to all the dealers in the western zone, production is delayed. That email was sent our on July 6th. Maybe something could change after the shutdown, but until then it is what the zone is telling the west coast dealers.

Me too! Are the east coast dealers getting their vehicles? This would be very strange! Maybe something to do with Calif emissions???

Anything's possible, but I did receive a call from the dealer in MD today to please come in and place my build order tomorrow. I'm #2, and they asked #1 to do so last week.

I won't stress either way. I'm driving a perfectly nice C6 right now.

Unless you're spending major cash over MSRP you'll probably be waiting
a year for the car. That's the only reason I haven't gotten rid of my C5
Z06. Now, the regular C6s are just barely starting to arrive in numbers
at my local dealers; they were supposed to be here last Fall. I expect
the same sh't for the Z06. Good luck Bro...
