A/C problem is fixed!
I went to Freeway Chevrolet in Chandler earlier this week and had them evacuate my A/C and lower the refrigerant from 1.4 lbs. to 1.1 lbs.
I went out for a long drive this afternoon while it was 110 degrees outside.
My speeds were from city driving, to 145 mph on the freeway.
The A/C worked perfectly! In fact, it has never been colder!
Looks like this is the fix!
If you go to this dealership, ask for Roger Young in the Service Department. He was great to work with and had my car in and out of the dealership within six hours!

Great info - thanks for keeping us all informed. I vaguely recall someone mentioning that GM actually identified the reduction in refridgerant as a probable cure for the problem; does anyone know whether or not they've incorporated that change on recently manufactured cars? I'm wondering if they're now actually shipping Corvettes with 1.1 instead of 1.4 lbs.

"...and the Lord did grin, and the people did feast in the comfort of a climate controlled environment!"
Hey, that's great news! You've had a terrible time with that A/C and as a fellow resident in Arizona (H3LL), I felt for you.
Thanks for posting the update.
