That Monterey Red looks a LOT BETTER than I thought it would!! Rich blood red.....deep crimson....was expecting crappy 80s maroon or something.
Get some pics in full blown sunlight, I want to see the depth of the color and see how it SHINES!!
Congrats man!! Good for you!! You're gonna love it

Very sharp. I had a 91 Formula Firebird that was Montery Red and looked to be that exact shade. Loved in then and still love that color.
I would be struggling to chose between that and LeMans Blue as my favorite. That car above would look even better with polished wheels.

There's still some purple tint in the one pic.
The first and the last pic of the set of 5 look like completely different reds.
Hopefully it's just a camera adjustment issue.

Close up in bright, direct light, it's a bright metallic red. Those that have seen it in person say it looks like that, but they are probably standing closer to it than if you were using a camera to frame the complete car.
At fifteen feet, or in subdued light, it begins to look like maroon or plum red with hints of blue or purple. In the second picture, with STGRAY outside the museum, it almost looks plum...I think a lot of that is from reflecting light from the blue sky. The third picture, which is looking down the side of the car, has the front end looking the darker shade, and the rear end (which is closer to the lens) looking more like the brighter red.

Oh well. Thanks for the info, MichRider and JmpnJck.
No way around it, I'll just have to see it in person.
I never thought I'd be going this nuts over a color.
I'm thinking that won't look good with red interior. Hmmm...

This color is a chameleon of sorts, at least to me. My Trans Am was a 'victory red' that I grew tired of. I didn't like magnetic red because I thought it was closer to a plum/maroon color and they discontinued precision red. This one seems to change--as explained here--depending on light and proximity.
Think I'll just go with my first idea, black.
