Whats your cars name?
Hey guys,
I was thinking about it today while I was work. I have named every single car I have ever owned and was wondering if you fellow forum members name yours? And if so, why? Was it looks? Character? Temperament?
Looking forward to the replies!

my '65 Coupe is Baby.
named because it is our first Vette and my wife and I treat her like our baby. we referred to the car as "our baby" so much we decided to just name her Baby.
goofy I know, but what the h*ll............

Go Daddy
Go Daddy was a line in a song back in 1966 when I bought a 425HP coupe off a showroom floor in Indy. My girl friend (now wife) named the car and I had plate made for it. When we got this '66 BB Vert we had to get the old plate out Firedog

My AA/FD in '61-'62 was named "Hell's Fire", also painted it on the nose of my Huey gunship in Vietnam in '63-'64; my '67 doesn't live up to that moniker, so it goes nameless, other than "she".....

Melting Slicks
My 65 convt., I can't really put a name on it. It's my Baby, my source of relaxation. My wife says that when we are out cruisin I just get that special grin when rowin through the gears. PINK FLOYDS Comfortably Numb comes to mind
Now, the 65 coupe is another story. My wife has named it the MONEY PIT! my 26 year old son calls it AWESOME.
The 60 is just plain SWEET.
The pleasure I get from them is PRICELESS

Sweetheart. I just thought it was a sweetheart of a car. I never named or talked to any ride I had before this one. But when I hit the lights in the garage to go out I always say "Hello Sweetheart." and when I come back I always say goodbye. Simply an amazing experience to have a machine like this.

Gertrude. Prim and proper 327/300/Powerglide. Full length green dress (I made some alterations) and she is mild-mannered and well-behaved. She does like fancy shoes and I can live with that. Goes to church on Sunday morning. At the dragstrip she just watches other C2s tear up their mechanical gear. On the boulevard she putts by local Police with their decibel meters with her stock exhaust. She has been known to listen to Bach at highway speeds. She shifts at 4500rpm at her excited but generally passive state; her version of something called passing gear. Doesn't work at highway speeds but she tells me GM knew best?? She's slow but dependable. Smooth at idle but very accommodating as matters speed up. She never overheats as per her personality.
I guess I could ask for more but Gertrude is mine and I love her for what she is. The base engine 1967 with Powerglide that no one wants. Except me.
She did flirt with a bigger and younger bully at one point but things didn't work out.

Had a bunch of cars through the years but never named any of them, but after never taking a trophy at the local cruise nights and seeing "junk" win, I named it Rodney cause it gets no respect.

Although it is not as yet completed, my next project, a SWC, will be named " Born to be Wild ".
When I finally am able to post some pictures, you will not need to be told why this name was chosen.

"Stinky" Because if I close the garage too soon after driving it the kids always go... why is the garage so stinky! I however love the old car smell, exhaust, gas, you name it, I love it. But it's called stinky none the less.

My 1960 corvette project is named "Ashley". She got her name because back in 1973, she had a fuel injection fire and turned the front end to "Ashes". All the damage is repaired on the body now and this year I am working on all the little things. Sent the generator and voltage regulator home with Pirkle at Bloomington, top frame is next!
I sure do look forward to the day I get to drive her for the first time!

not one to come up with cute names for my cars, but as another poster said, my wife began calling my 65 by name right away - calls it my "girlfriend". she's almost always topless, a dark red / brunette, and she's got the serious curves (oh and she sometimes does not want to "go") - sounds like some of my old girlfriends . . . . .
