C6 fuel feed failure and fix - posting for future searches
Stats: C6 Coupe, auto, Z51, 18,000 miles
Failure mode:Repeated but intermittent failure to start. Strong cranking but no fuel feed.
Fail to feed confirmed at Schraeder valve under driver's side fuel rail cover.
Failure was chronic and persistant, but when car would start it started fine for hours.
Corrective action: Below is copied from the service report. It is also VERY similar to the failure posted about by Lynn Mobley.
From my service report:
"Checked for power on gray fuel pump feed at C184 - found power on one side and not the other. Inspected - found that terminal A4 had signs of poor contact and overheating. Replaced terminal and installed dielectric grease on all 3 connectors in fuel pump feed circuit.
Checked operation - all OK. Let vehicle heat soak twice - all OK. Reinstalled all removed items."
