Slammed Vette Into Da Weeds
Well, after feeling dissatisfied with lowering on stock bolts, I took the plunge today at forum member "connecticut"'s garage and went into da weeds. The front and rear bushings were cut on my Z51 suspension, which put my pavement to top of the wheel well height at about 26.5 inches all around. From stock height, the car dropped a good two inches in the rear and a little less than that in the front.
Here is a pic at stock ride height. I drove the car a year in this horrific state.
Here is a pic after lowering on stock bolts. Not too bad, but I craved more!!!!!!!!
And finally, drum roll please...........after cutting the bushings this baby is slammed.
The great thing is, I havent noticed any real sacrifice in ride quality. Granted, it is not comparable to a luxury sedan, but it handles the bumps just fine. I doubt I will upgrade shocks. These pics are from this afternoon, so I will have to wait to see if the car drops any further once it settles. Anyone who is on the fence about going low, I say go for it. You wont regret it.

Lookin great!
Keep an eye on tread wear.. Might need an alignment check in a few weeks.
Also, watch potholes and speed bumps.
(might want to visit A&A Corvette)

Frame Savers and Rocker Rails have saved my belly a few times now

post over in n.east, i'm a bit far for you to drive, there should be someone that likes working on c5's and has a 2 hours of spare time(this is for cutting bushings and taking your time)should take no more than .5 to lower on stock bolts

That looks great! Have you hit any decent sized bumps yet?did you get any tire rub in the rear?
I dunno what the deal is,but ,I have the same set-up(except I have zo6 rear spring ans bilstein sports) ..and I get tire rub in the rear when I get as low as 27.5 inches (I'm talking bumps here..decent jolts, but not bone jarring )

That looks great.
You mentioned you hadn't noticed any sacrifice in ride. How does it, or might it handle if/when you "get on it"? Does lowering it affect the control? If you step on it from a light will the lower setup cause any issues? I'm fairly new to the Corvette scene. Your lowering pics sure make me want to take the next steps.
