K&N oil filter warning
I changed the oil in my C6 Vert yesterday and I decided to use the K&N oil filter HP 1007. All went smothly and when I finished and checked for leaks I noticed that the 1" bolt into the filter to aid in installation sticks 1/2" below the oil pan, that makes it the lowest object under the car, NOT GOOD, road trash could catch on the filter and rip it off the engine. I removed it and installed a Mobil1 -107 For what its worth

I just got the AC Delco UltraGuard, still PF44 from PFYC as Pep Boys and Kragen never heard of "UltraGuard".

Not surprised that the major automotive stores never heard of ACDelco's premium oil filter.

However, the new part number for the oil filter is: ACDelco Part # PF46.

Corvettes switched over to the smaller PF44 filters when the PF46's were discontinued. Try the Mobil1 oil filter - great flow and best filtering available (see bobistheoilguy.com)

If a company can't keep its web site updated it's time to change products. If there is some confusion as to the correct part number, I agree with you and I will switch to using the Mobil 1 oil filter. Another reason why this forum is a valuable source of information.
