Default Drive Coupe w/open hatch @ 75 MPH?

I have to deliver a washing machine to my mothers house today and she's about 120 mile from me. We've already got the machine loaded in the C5 with the hatch WIDE open. The flow of traffic typically flows from 75 to 90 mph on the route I need to take. Does anybody know if it's ok to drive at these speeds with the hatch wide open?
Thanks,
Richard

i wonder why you have a washing machine in a vette in the first place??but that;s just me...i wouldn't recommend driving that speed w/hatch open without some kind of tie down for everything!!!rent a van!

I've gone across town with something in the coupe with the hatch partially open, but I would seriously consider another option with your situation. That just does not sound good...

A washing machine in the back of a C5? Holy suds bat man...that just aint right.
If you are serious then tie the hatch down tight and protect the under side of the glass with blankets so it doesn't bounce.
Then give a try.

Home Depot rents trucks for 19.95 for 4 hours. You'll break the glass on your hatch at anything over probably 45 mph.

You can tell we all think this is a heck of a good idea.

Is alcohol involved? Prolly shouldn't be driving anyway

I think you've just made Corvette history by actually fitting a washing machine in the back!! You posted this to get a rise out of everyone on this Forum, right?

I would rent a truck, but I don't want to leave my Vette in a U-Haul lot all day. Plus I don't want to drive a truck for 240 plus miles. I'm a bit concerned about the back end sagging as well. It's pretty low now, but still has some spring left in it. But I have to haul a refrigerator back with me, and I'm afraid that might bottom out my suspension.
Any thoughts?
