Default Borla's Gotta Go

Just took a 4-hour trip in the vette and decided the Borla's gotta go. Cruising at 65 was unbearable--resonance was like a bass drum pounding on both sides of my head. I either had to shift into 5th or risk a ticket to get rid of it. I guess I'm going to have to lay down the cash for some Corsa's.

Anyone running Corsa's on a 6 spd w/ 4.10's? Any resonance at cruising speed (65-70) with them? BTW, I have a 96 and plan on running them with stock manifolds and cats.

Thanks

When my car was somewhat stock and had Headers, no cats, 4:10s, and Corsa exhaust. It had absolutly no resonance on the highway in any gear. With the HP the car has now it still has no resonance.

Had that problem on my 91 with the Borlas. Keith installed resonators on the car and the drone is gone. Cheaper than Corsas unless you just want the excuse to buy them.

After seeing some more Borlas on some C4's, I will never recommend them to anyone.

The quaility is so poor. Dump them and get the Corsa, they sound great at WOT and are whisper quiet at cruise.

Try putting a few layers of sound dampener, like 'dynomat' under your rear carpet. It will take the sting out of the resonance.

I have Corsas and LT headers (factory D44 gears, though), and there is no resonance at any RPM. You won't be disappointed.

I have Borla's and like them, but I did put sound dampener under the rear carpet. It was too loud without it.

I had Borlas on mine and got rid of them for the Corsa best move I have ever made, wisper quiet inside the car while crusing , agressive snarl outside when you get on it

I love my Borla Stingers as well... To me it seems to growl when cruising in the city but at hwy speeds it quiets out. Don't ask me why.. but thats the way it sounds. No resonance at all.
