[Z06] zo6 vs. f430

Please, don't do this again. What is with you guys. Personally, I would bet on the 430 with its mid-engine location, f1 150 millisecond shifting, etc. ,etc.
Anyone who would prefer a Z in favor of a 430...go right ahead. Rumor has it that the model is entirely sold out. In a year, the Z will be a dime a dozen and people will hardly notice. The Ferrari will draw a crowd for the next ten years, and for good reason. It is a piece of art, design-wise and mechanically. Anyone who would tell you otherwise, simply is too poor to play the game.

I would consider all Ferraris works of art along with the Corvettes. It doesn't just stop with those two. Trackwise it's too tough to tell right now but one thing is for sure, whoever does work the Nurburgring circuit the fastest, the other one won't be behind very far. Both these cars are going to be a -10 (negative my friends) in the slouch department, so regardless of who wins, they'll both be winners in my book. When cars like this are evenly matched or very close, I could care less who's the winner. But because I'm a Vette faithful, I route for the Vette.

That's also a pretty bold quote saying that it's a piece of art, and I guess it's arguable; only the test of time will be able to tell. However, I doubt it will join the ranks of Van Gogh and Mozart. Maybe it will though, who knows?

In a straight line, I think we'll see the Vette be a little faster than the F430, but people who think that the new Z06 is gonna be 10-15 car lengths ahead of anything on two or four wheels are simply blinded by loyalty. Ferrari, Viper, Porsche, Vette are all very close, and in any car I wouldn't race the other for pink slips. One thing is for certain- it will be an awesome car, and I can't wait to take delivery of mine.

The Ferrari is all hype & just a status symbol..
At the Ring? I'd bet on the C6 Z06 kickin some serious @ss.
(it'll actually be very close and hard to tell)

There are so many aspects of the 430 that the vette does not come close to mechanically. Read some of the reviews.

Oh yeah, then there is that sweet exhaust note from the 430. Try matching that. Loud isn't always sweet.

Give me the Z that I could rack up 100,000 miles on over the course of owning it. The Ferrari is a boutique car that is beautiful and definitely awesome....but you are paying a preminum for the pretty horsey on front Cars are meant to be driven, not stared at. If you need your ego stroked buy a Ferrari....if you need your inner child stroked get something you can drive everyday

considering my father just took delivery of his f430 last week. i would not even compare it to a corvette. i personally have a 2000 c5 that is built and to compare the new zo6 to a f430 is crazy. my father said this car is as fast as his f50. now would you compare that to a new zo6. i still love my c5 but if given the chance to switch to the f430 over a new zo6 . i would not even look back.

While that about the 430's reliability and the F50's speed is nice and all, you guys are forgetting that it's not even the subject of this thread. In case you forgot, it's still about which car will lap the "Ring" faster.
