C5 passenger side floor wet
I seems to have an issue with water getting in somehow, and my passengers side is soaking!
It smells too, so it must not be a new issue.
This could be tied into my convertible top issue, but I just want to see if anyone else has this problem too.
Spring is here!

Also very possible your A/C condensation drain tube is clogged. This is quite common. The condensate will back up into your passenger side floor board and soak the carpet. You can reach it from underneath the car. It's just next to the battery tray coming out of the firewall.

you use a pressure washer when washing? I never had a problem, then I got a new pressure washer, used it to wash the vette, then about 2 weeks later, it smelled like mold, water had leaked in somehow... just Fabrized the heck out of it and let it air out.. but this may be your problem

What Patches said is a frequent problem in the C5. You will want to check the electronics that are in the floorboard on the passenger side - the water may have gotten in there also.

Another document to store when it happens to me...
Patches you seem to know everything.
Do you happen to have the winning lottery numbers for Friday's Mega Millions - I would appreciate it...

Okay, heavy rain yesterday. Passenger side is soaked so bad i needed to remove the seat, and carpet. Everything is now air drying.
With all these items out, naturally it will be easier to deturmine what is causing this.
So, I ran a hose to the windshield, nothing.
Ran the hose to the passenger window area, nothing.
Ran the hose to the convertible glass window, WALA!
the window isnt sealed correctly, causing the water to seep into the passengers side.
Also, I noticed that the rear carpet was wet too.. this all due to the rear window.
So, i need to get some J-Weld and seal that window.
Umm, while I have the seat/carpet out. is there anything I should do? (maintenence/preventative)?
I dunno what the whole udders thing every1 tells me about, but Id like to know.
Also, to ensure that the AC isnt clogged, should I run the A/C? In hot or cold mode?

the drain is for condensation while the AC is running, so run it cold and check for water coming out of the little pipe in Patch's diagram.

I had the wet interior problem BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had my carpets out more times than I care to mention! Once I left the window down during a BAD rain storm!
Anyway,,,, water can enter the passengers foot well from a number of areas. Looks like you have zeroed in on one of the leak paths. Here are some of the other areas that will give you problems sooner or later!
One is the HVAC air box condensation drain. Patchs has already provided you a detailed drawing so,,,,,,,,,,,,,I will give you a picture of the rubber fitting and some other details.
Here is the fitting and a close up of the crimped area that gets clogged:
If you want to remove the fitting and cut off the crimp (RECOMMENDED) here is where it is (HIGHLIGHTED AREA) on the fire wall. The flashlight beam is shining on the area where the fitting lives.
When this fitting gets clogged, condensation inside the HVAC air box will back up and spill out into the passengers foot well. The BCM will get damp and freak out!
The drivers and passengers side door frame area has a leak path on some C5's. My 2002 Z06 leaked on the drivers side. Here are some pictures of how GM installed some putty to solve the leak problem:
Drivers side upper door hinge.
Here is a picture of the passengers side with OUT any putty. It has not leaked YET!
If your carpets are wet I STRONGLY recommend putting the carpet and jute underlayment in an area where it is warm and dry soit dries out completly prior to reinstallation!

Okay every1. Ready for this? I JB welded the window, seems good. Did the water test passed. Although my passengers side is still wet! I then zero'd in the water to this spot: (notice the hole there, where the rubber doesnt meet to the end)

When mine got wet, (or should I say SOAKED!!!!!) I removed the carpet and jute. While the carpet was wet anyhow, I got out the Little Green Machine and added some good carpet cleaning shampoo and cleaned the entire carpet. You would be amazed at the dirt that it pulled out!!
The machine sucks almost all of the water out of the carpet and only the jute underlayment needed to dry out. I put it in my furnace room and it dried nicely!
The passengers side looked so good that I had to do the drivers side too!!
While I had the carpet out I added Frost King insulation to both foot wells and the tunnel. Made a big difference in noise and heat.
After the cleaning and drying there was No odor and no more water!
