Official Airport Cruise-In Date and RSVP list
The official date for the ACI will be June 4th. It seems like the best date to work out with most people and my own schedule as well. Plus it will give us a little more time to plan for and let the weather get better. Also, if anyone has any car problems from the Corvette Forum Cruise-In, they'll have time to get repairs done.
I will most likely charge only $20 because I know not everyone will be participating in the burnout contest and I'd like everyone to get their money's worth.
The schedule of events will be as follows (just like last year):
Auto-X
Lunch
Drag Racing
Burnout Contest
Award Ceremony
All participants will have to sign a waiver in case of any accidents during the event. Helmets and are encouraged for safety but are not required. Areas will be recommended for spectator viewing but all spectating is at own risk.
The charge will cover 2-3 laps of Auto-X, 2 runs on the drag strip followed by bracket racing, and entry into the burnout contest. Spectators are welcome to watch free of charge. Video taping and pictures are strongly welcomed. People are welcome to bring cooler and food if they want but we will be grilling up and have a lunch menu if you want to save some trunk space.
Corvettes will be the majority of the cars there but other cars are welcome, too.
I'm not certain on which awards we will have but a few I know for certain. They include Auto-X (best lap time), Drag Racing (heads up elimination), Burnout Contest (vote dropbox), and Best of Show (vote dropbox).
We will be keeping an eye out up to the day of the event for the weather. In the event of bad weather, we will either try and plan for the following sunday (the 5th) or we will revert to a backup date. I'll have to check with the airport on how long afterwards it would be because they would have to notify the FAA about closing the airport by a certain amount of time. Even if we run into the night, we could still do the burnout contest at night with flood lights, I would think, and finish with the awards ceremony.
Let's start an RSVP list so I can get an idea of how many people will be coming and make plans accordingly.
Also, I'd like to get some Corvette Forum banners (as well as other banners) for the event in support of the Corvette community. If anyone knows who might have one or where I could find one, I'd appreciate it if you could PM me.

i am so in. i will also be bringing my friend with his maggy'ed vette.
it sounds like there will be too many people there for me to be able to defend my autocross title so i'm going after tommy in the burnout contest.
tommyn is is ''on''. this year i'm bringing an extra set of tires to. i might even follow in your footsteps and trailer it there just in case i break anything.

I'd really like to come. But that's my wife's birthday. I don't think it would be a good idea to ditch her all day to play with my car. If it rains, and you switch to the backup day, I'm in.
