Freakin' awesome... I love that ACP body. Is that an mn12 tranny or something custom?

I would assume that it's the high dollar GM close ratio unit..

BTW How much was the body work?

The trans, as stated, is the Close ratio trans. It really isn't that much money (any new box is expensive), but wouldn't be ideal for a street car.

2.29, 1.61 1.22 1.00 .85 .75
1st through 6th.

stock mn6 2.66 1.78 1.30 1.00 .74 .50
m12 2.97 2.07 1.43 1.00 .84 .56

As you can see, 1st gear in the racing trans is close to what 2nd is in the Z06 box, so you nearly get 6 gears in the space of 4 prodution gear. This keeps the revs up in every corner, and REALLY helps out of slow corners. With the M12, 3rd was too slow, 2nd over-revved. With this trans, you always have a good gear available.

I can see how that would be helpful

Yea, when I come around Oak Tree, if I'm in 3rd it takes forever to get it to wind up, and if I'm in 2nd I can't use it until exit and then it's at redline almost immediately. Nothing is ever comfortable around that turn for me.

truer words cannot be said I have to add that a slighly taller 3rd would be nice for hogs pen as well...I am always hesitent to really let if fly around there!

The last time I checked this box was about $6000. I assume a new M6 or M12 would be 4-5 k anyway.

I'll be starting with a 4.10. 3.73 is also an option, but I really don't want 1st to be too fast.

GM does slightly discount the trans for Grand Am/WC teams, so I basically paid for an MN6/M12. I honestly think their retail price is high so people don't but it for the wrong reason. As far as I know, it is NOT stronger in any way, and the gearing really is only good for road racing.

I was thinking of 3:73 but I don't think I have enough RPM and may get caught short.

6900rpm with 3.73 is around 167mph, pretty much fast enough for any road race street car. I've only gone a few mph faster than that in my World Challenge cars I think drag holds us back on top end, but 170mph is FAST!

I meant that I may find myself short in more corners. I have one I can rebuild to 3:73.

I hit 2nd there as soon as I am at half way point. I love that turn and Pocono Devils turn. There is a turn on Pocono east where I tried 1st but it was to much to control and not worth the risk of getting out of shape and doing some gardening.

Well you just have to take Oak tree faster so 3rd dosnt slow you down.
