Hopefully if my heads have guide wear, and car was not driven hard at all then there's a probability that all heads will have these issues, and bealive me I take care of my cars.

Also my new set up has everything done except bronze guides, they came with oem guides when I purchased the heads. I got into it because the reason I purchased the heads was thinking they were ready to go with bronze guides.
Anyway that's another story I am currently at 1100 miles with new setup hopefully we will see if there will be any guide wear with the stock oem guides and ss valves....I am probably the only person with Heads and cam on stock new guides....with ss valves and trunion upgrade.... I will pull the heads at 92k and check for any wear till then Im smoking my tires...

I hope Darin can see or figure out why some guides are flawless and some wear.

Impressive update.

Going back to an earlier post, one reason I keep running across for accelerated guide wear in general (any engine) is excessive guide clearance when new. Apparently this causes the guide to wear quicker or prematurely, for reasons that I could guess at but otherwise am not certain. Based on snippets I run across here and there I get the impression that the current setup from the cylinder head shops is pretty tight clearance when new, in the area of .0012 or thereabouts and not much more. Maybe this is the key. Or one of the keys. Or maybe not

I really want to take off heads to see guide wear, for everyone on forum but don't have time. It would be really cool if people can donate some money I wouldn't mind being a guinea pig plus Darin Morgan lives 25 min from here. No track time 4 races maybe 2 runs to 170mph maybe highway miles... Only have done 2 changes of oil at 10% now what you think I should do Mark....

I would definitely be interested in an inspection report if you decided to do that.

If it were me I'd do the wiggle test (w/dial indicator). While not as precise as a direct measurement I think the evidence is clear that it will show if anything serious is going on.

wow finally a set that was semi okay. I'll make sure to let everyone know what my heads look like after they have had a supercharger on them for 3k and 21,000 kms or driving, when I pull them and put the WCCH on. good post too.
