Great run! Having participated in 4 Texas Mile events myself I can appreciate driving it there and back home afterwards. You don't see many 200+ mph cars that are driven back and forth to these 1 mile events. Nice job and great driving.

If you don't mind me asking could you explain a little more how your cooling system is set up?
When you roadrace it, how long are your sessions? No heating problems at all? If so
Nice video BTW, I have been a fan since corvettekillstories as well

I run a custom air to water aftercooler, with 2 heat exchangers mounted up in the nose behind where the Z06 front vents would be, NO conflict with the Dewitts double wide radiator/high speed spal fans. I run an Evans Water pump. I also run an oil cooler with my stage 4 Aviad 12 qt dry sump setup behind the license plate grill, again no conflict with the main rad. No AC condenser to help cooling, plus the dry sump oil pump is mounted where the compressor would be.
I have a cooler behind each rear Z06 air/brake duct/just in front of the rear wheel well, one for the tranny and one for the diff...
I also have 2 coolers with spal fans for my fuel, one in the front and one in the rear. The fuel goes from the FPR to the front cooler, then travels via insulated line to the back, just inside the rear fasia, next to the license plate. We put a screen mess in place of one of the rear lights for airflow. The fuel is then dumped back into both tanks...
I have custom pickups inside both tanks, that the Holly pump draws from.
I have run 20-25 minute road course events at WOT and 100 degrees with out any cooling issues. My coolant temps may peak on a hot day in the 220 range at the end of the session, and oil is well under control. Air intake temps are fine, no heat soak. The duel Meth Alky Control does help.
On the mile pull, I start off at 180 coolant temps, and may go up to 190 by the end of the run, but start to drop back down to 180, before I get back to the starting line...

Thanks, I agree, being able to drive it there and home again adds something to the whole deal.
Thanks for the long time following, I REALLY do appreciate it!!!

I know that when I quit racing bikes and want to roadrace a Vette I'll have to spend some time building a good cooling system as heating is a real problem on track, especially with high HP FI cars. But at least you proved that nothing is impossible

I am in the process of deciding what tranny and clutch etc to get.
I mostly use my car for mountain fun blasting through the gears.
I have 1014RWHP but lose about 100+ because of the elevation thin air.
I use MT ET Street r2 mostly because they hook great.
I have a 342 rear end...but am tempted to go to a 373.
I am looking at a used RPM tranny with m12 gearing. and i was told it would make my 342 rear feel like a 373?
I just don't want to lose traction....? but would appreciate using 5 th and 6th...
I was thinking about Mcloed RXT clutch.
Can you give me any recommendations on whats the best way to go and if i should consider anything else while the car is being worked on?

I like the way ur able to pull 5th and 6th gear like that!

I think you'll be ok with traction, since you do have the 342s, even if you do go with the M12.
I would call Mcleod direct, and run the RXT clutch selection by them, given your current power. I have the RXT on my C6 (H/C NA) car, and it works GREAT! I run Mcleod's original street twin in my C5, good for 1200 HP.
As far as what else to do, just look for the weak spot and strengthen it...
Good Luck!!!
Thanks for watching!!!

Great job! Congrats!
Did you go to where the power has ended or you could still accelerate?
Have you experienced any aerodynamic issues? (light front etc.)
The car has a stock body or you did some mods with aerodynamics?

For the most part, the car holds the runway well. I have some venting on the hood, and a small rear spoiler.
If you look at this video, you can see the speedo is still pulling pretty hard!

The last thing I have left to upgrade on my car is the tranny. It currently has the stock M12 in it and I know i'll run out of gear with it at my power level before reaching the mile mark. You've given me some ideas for when I get ready to have RPM build my tranny. Thanks again for sharing.
