Where's the proof? Video, substantiated eye witness reports, anything?

I agree, no videos, no witnesses. No dice.
When the ACR ran the 7.22 at the Ring. Motor Trend was there and witnessed it.

Yep, probably fake. Not that a perfectly driven ZR1 couldn't gain 4 seconds.

The time has now been removed from the site, so I guess there was nothing to back up the claim.

If it matters at all (and it doesn't ) the IP is registered to RoadRunner high speed internet services in the Virginia area.

It is back up again at:

http://www.fastestlaps.com/index.php...=49075dee270e0

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 @ Nordschleife
Reference statement: http://www.autoblog.com/2008/10/28/c...off-ring-time/

Lap time profile
Lap time ID: 49075dee270e0
Car: 2008 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 (476 kw)
Track: Nordschleife
Lap time: 7:22.4
Driven by: Pro driver
Submitter IP: 201.52.213.19
Date & time of submission: 28/10/08, 20:46:06

But what is funny it cites the Autoblog entry which was based on my original posting...which cited the original Fastest Lap posting ( now removed )..a bit of circular logic..it seems

But does that mean that it is true? I am not doubting the time could happen but I only see mention of it on 2 blogs and both of thoes were credited to a poster named Xeyad and point back to the fastlaps.com site that now has removed the time. Not buying it until I see some thing more offical.
