Default *** SKF Racing Hubs from LG Motorsports ***

SKF Racing Hubs are now available from LG Motorsports.

Introductory pricing: $350 each!

ARP studs available for $29.95 per hub with FREE INSTALLATION!

LG Motorsports would like to introduce a performance hub for your C5 and C6 with the heart of a ZR1. SKF manufactures the hub unit for the ultimate Corvette, the new ZR1 and is offering the same technology to the C5 and C6 owner.

The SKF Corvette Racing Hub unit is designed to provide high stiffness during cornering, thereby reducing piston knock-back and the need to trail brake. It is also designed for durability and to maintain preload at sustained loading of 1.2g! All this adds up to faster lap times and better driver feedback. If you have upgraded your Corvette's performance, you will want these SKF hubs.

You gain increased stiffness for better brake performance under high loads, higher preloads, <10 micron run-out and much increased durability. Under race and competitive use you may go an entire season without replacement.

Improve your Corvette's handling, brake performance and hub durability with these new SKF Performance hubs.

*Introductory pricing will be available until Christmas 2008*

This may be a stupid question, but how does this compare to the GM race hub?

Good question but they are built by SKF, and they are built to be better, per SKF.

We will know more when we get more miles on them.

I will say that a stock bearing will not last one race weekend in a World Challenge car with DOT tires on it. but the GM motorsports bearings would last about 3-4 races.

If we ran a high speed track with the GM bearing with heavy loading on one side, then they only got one race out of the "hard" side.

Track days or club racing will not put the same loads on them , so I expect that they will be a good part.

Thanks
Lou G

Local and TTC racer and retired GM engineer Danny Kellermeyer has tested these. Compared to the GM performance bearing, which he says will have play in the beraing after 50 race miles, at 250 race miles he has no play in the SKF bearing.

I work for SKF and I can tell you that SKF bearings are the best bearings in the business. We stand by our product and have ridiculous technology for testing the durability and life of these bearings.

We don't go for cheap out-sourcing and stuff like that -- though there is some stuff we do out source. We have 40,000+ people in this global company. We've got a bunch of plants in the US and if we're not pulling our stock from there, its either coming from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, or France.... Not China lol.

The SKF bearings are high quality, which is extremely important for this product. When you want durability and fantastic support, you go with SKF bearings.

Cool stuff.

If the car is up in the air, grab a hold of the wheel at the top and bottom with both hands. If there is any play, you may have worn bearings.

You may see increased brake pad knock-back.

You may trigger an abs warning light due to a sensor malfunction. (The ABS sensors reside in the wheel bearings)

I will PM you with labor costs.
