Default 63 Build Update Pics

We finally got the headers made and mounted with the sidepipes. There is just a little bit more grinding before they go off to the chrome shop. The bodywork is almost finished and we set the body on today to check fit and ride height. We expect the car to settle about one more inch when finished. It sure is exciting to get it to the point where it looks like a car.

Thanks, the fenders are from Corvette City. They are 2 1/2 inches wider front and rear, which let us run 11 inch wide wheels front and rear.

They are. I wanted Hooker collectors with Hooker sidepipes. I called Hooker to see if they would make a set for me and the guy laughed. We looked at all kind of options and then Doug Rippie from DRM said he would modify stock Hookers to fit my LS2. He did an amazing job.

Sorry, was focused on the new work. Wasn't trying to hide the supercharger.

No apology necessary. Just messing with you. It looks incredible.

I'm running a Maggie HotRod unit on mine and it fits perfectly under the L88 style hood and rocks. You're gonna have a blast.

Another awesome looking resto mod. I personally like the big fenders while keeping the body lines in place.

When you decided on which frame to use, what led you to choose the Newman frame? I am planning a Grand Sport on modern chassis and trying to decide which frame to use.

The pictures turned out good!!! You never told me you lived in Jackson Hole. I have a fun story about breaking my jaw there, skiing.

I went with the Newman frame because I wanted to use C4 suspension. That ruled out the Art Morisson chassis and I don't particularly like the looks of the SRIII.

If I were doing another one I would go with R&R out of Montana. Their frames are modified originals to take all of the C4 suspension (similar to Newman). They built the frame for my 56 Belair and are going to build one for my 54 Olds Holiday Coupe. They do both C1 and C2 frames and the workmanship is awesome. Excellent lead and delivery times, a pleasure to deal with and less expensive than Newman.

Jeff, just to avoid any confusion, I'm sitting in Vetterod's office in MN and replied to your question while he was logged into the forum.

FYI, Tim at Vetterod's is doing all of the paint and bodywork as well as the final assembly. Highly recommend him and his shop. They do everything from NCRS restorations to restomods.

Great look! The wide fenders maintain the stock body lines. Will the stock bumpers fit? Looks like the car is sitting pretty good, what springs did you use? I changed both front and rear springs and added the lowering shims to mine and would like it a little lower still. I love the wheels! Please tell me more about them, size, offset, who made them, etc? They look like the 5 spoke Americans from the period. I am looking to replace the C5 wheels on my 66 coupe but haven't found anything I like, til now!
Thanks,
Nick
