Default Poll: Nitto NT01, Who would purchase/use?

The Nitto NT01 is a DOT legal, R compound (TWR 100) that is ideal for those of us who what a tire to drive to the track, run laps, then drive home. However, it has only been available in C5 sizes. Just talked with John Wu at Nitto. In order for them to build this tire in our size (rear only, front exists now), they would like to see how much interest exists. This would be for the stock C6 Z06 size, 325/30-19, since regular C6 owners could squeeze this tire onto their stock rims also. Once this poll is up and running, I will email the link to John at Nitto so they can make a decision. Here's the link to the tire:

Thanks!

What about a full out Drag Radial???

Would be a TON of interest from Z06 and Viper owners! I know of three sets my business partner and myself would purchase!

Or how would this tire do as a Drag Tire???

Jason

It is very sticky once hot. Not quite as good as a purpose built DR, but certainly a hell of alot better than street tires. Bonus is that you can drive them back and forth from, street driving, to road race, to autocross, to drag strip.

Default Absolutely!!!!!

My Vote was YES.

Gosh guys..... for all of us out here clambering for OEM size stock street tire options (other than the Goodyears) it would be in our best interest to keep this thread favorable for the Nitto 19" in 325/30. That will only improve our odds of ever having options to chose.

I think opinions on racing tires in 18" sizes should be in another thread.

Lets help get this tire to market!

I said I'd never run anything other than Nitto R2's until the NT01's came out. I just had to replace and went with the NT01's, and they are amazing. Now apparently I'll never run anything other than the NT's till Nitto does it better again, which I don't know how they could.

I run them in 18's for the track.

I am not sure if you are intending to use them on the street or the track.

Either way, Do not get caught in rain with these tires. Puddles or any amount of depth of water on the road will terrify you.

Believe, me.

Are they runflats? Why not put this on C6 gen for more replies? Either way I'll vote yes to get Nitto to make one.

Non runflats. I posted over there to tell everyone to vote here. Is there a way to post on multiple sites?

The Nitto R2 and the NT01 are AWESOME products. I actually run them on the street and have been doing so since 2003. I am on my 3rd set. They got zero punctures against mutliple punctures on the F1 SC runflats, they wear evenly, and they stick like glue. They don't seem to be affected by heat cycling the way V700s and V710s are.

I currently run NT01 275s up front and R2 305s rear and the tires work very well together. 18s all around, of course.

19 sizes would be awesome.
