436 HP-bigger engine and it still cant take the C5Z WOW!

Am I missing something, but doesn't a C5Z have 500hp and an LS3 have 430? If they both weigh the same, should the C5Z win? It's 70hp more, unless something else is occurring.

I agree, the Z06 fixed roof, is the best look for a Corvette, and they smoke LS2's all day long. I have had 3 C5 Z's and a C6 Z, and now I am ordering a 08 Z51. I am confident that in the real world, the LS3 will smoke an LS2 just liek the C5 Z's do.

This is true and also you need to delete the link to the street racing as they are not allowed on this forum

And I have a Motor trend which tested a 02 C5Z vs a Viper. The 02Z ran 12.8@114. Guess that proves the 08 vette is faster.

Why wouldn't an 02-04 Z smoke a stock LS2?? The LS6 is rated higher and the Z is lighter.....not much question of which car is the slight underdog.

Then if a C5Z has 405hp and the LS3 has 430hp and turns the quarter mile in 12.2, then the LS3 wins, right? I think the C5Z does the quarter in 12.4, so it would be a little close, but the LS3 should win. Also, they improve the auto, and the software, so that is a plus.

When I got my first C6, a friend who has a 2002 Z06 with headers, tune etc (382 rwhp) came over and we drove each others cars. His FELT like it would run off and leave my C6 for dead. But a funny thing happened side-by-side. Even with his mods, they were damn near equal - his only advantage was slight at higher speeds (this all on a race track, of course).
You cannot go by seat of the pants - it's very deceptive with the C6.

Who's an idiot? Me, or the guy in the video? And if you are referring to me, I never said that a C5Z would smoke an ls3, I said it would be real close and the Ls3 would probably be faster.

I know you have both, but I'm curious as to whether you have "run them" side by side.
