Update on my A&A blown C6 Z06
Wanted to report on the progress. As you might imagine I can hardly wait to get her back next week!!!
Right now the car is at a very safe 5.5 lbs of boost and its putting down 577 rwhp and 530 rwtq with just the blower and LT's. Andy and I really wanted to get to the 600 rwhp number and its attainable (and maybe even a bit more) with an additional external fuel pump. So, thats going in this week.
This is what it should look like when done:
Traction is going to be a major issue (it was when it just had LTs and a tune). Andy suggests 19" grooved Hoosiers. We'll see....

Based on the initial numbers, it would seem that the LS2/base C6 will be the platform of choice for fored induction because the LS2 is making the same power as the LS7 under boost.

I made 595.83 rwhp/ 556.95 rwtq with 8 lbs. of boost. If Pio thinks traction is going to be a problem in that Z06, come take a ride in my car...it's a TON worse!!!

Pio,
The kit looks amazing! With the stock C6 Z06 running low 11's, the extra 150 rwhp is just going to be sick.

I disagree. He is running a very conservative 5.5 lbs of boost and he indicated the need for a fuel pump for more power. I'd be willing to bet the area under the curve is much better for the 7.0L with lower boost. Also, the less boost you have to run to make the power, the better. This will be a legit 9 second car, and with 8lbs of boost you are probably looking at 700 rwhp. Keep in mind the blown C6 Z06 is in it's baby stage right now also. As more tuning ability is available, this setup will make more and more power.

I hope you are right.
However,
I base my opinions on the results from 3 different boosted C6 Zo6's.
All of them lead me to believe that once boosted,
the LS7 makes little or no additional power than a LS2.
When you then factor in the difference of MSRP betwenn the ZO6 and the coupe, the LS2 powered models seem to be the only choice.
Again,
I hope you are right and the LS7 make more power under boost.
But all results up to this point don't support that.

I will also say it's amazing how much power is being extracted out of the L2's. What a great motor!
Sorry for hijacking this thread Pio.

With 3 more pounds of boost, he should definately be around the 700rwhp mark. After being at ~600 rwhp, I just don't see how I am going to get all this power to the ground efficiently(besides body conversion/tires/suspension/clutch). I think a 577rwhp is much more planted than I am for sure. So I guess my question is, when is too much...too much??

I hear you John. It is too easy to be tempted to add more power to find out later that we have made our cars slower because traction because such a serious issue. Very good point.

No one has criticized Andy or centrifugals in this thread.
My post has simply stated that FI LS7's have not shown to make more power that boosted LS2's.
Your prejudices have clouded your comprehension.
We are not discussing the future value of a depreciating asset.
I challenge anyone to refute my opinion that a LS2 powered C6 is a more logical platform to choose for forced induction.

So which one is a better platform again?? The Winner is...... C6 Z06!!Simple math, which it seems you missed that class in 1st grade. Stop Highjacking threads, keep your opinions to yourself so we don't catch your "stupid" virus and maybe learn a thing or 2 from the guys here. They know what they are talking about. Why you might ask? Because they have been there, done that, and have that........!
Now to everyone else, I am sorry to highjacking the thread and apologize, I just hate it when people come on talking like they know everything and take away from peoples thread. Pio, beautiful car. You are damn lucky and if you ever get a chance to come to Dallas, let us know. We'll take ours out too and head out on the town. Great set up, and great install. Thanks for not letting loose on 1k and leaving it for me!! It's been long awaited!!! Have fun guys and be safe. Have fun with the car and yes, you will need Hoosiers or drag radials of some sort. lol
