Default Nearly 600 RWHP LS7 N/A

We just finished an LS7 headed 440 CID motor. We just did a little hand blending, otherwise the heads are stock. It made 593 RWHP and 556 RWT with a fairly tame cam in the high 230s.
This same exact engine made 545 RWHP with AFR 225 heads.
The only other change was from Stainless works headers to American Racing headers.
The car is quite tame as far as idle, surging etc. It just has a "medium" lope at idle.
Quite a difference with just a head and header change.

Thanks Andy! This thing's a beast! Never had so much fun in an N/A powered car!!!! Once again...kudos to you, Charlie, Melissa, Big Mike, Jessie, and all the guys in the trenches. This car is exactly what I wanted!

Default 440 LS7 engine

What is the compression ratio of that beast? Do you have any sound clips of the idle and what is the idle set at? Thanks, James

approx. 11.3/1 CR. Idle is set at 900. Don't have any sound clips , but it sounds nice and "chunky". I love that!

Thats a VERY small cam for a 440ci monster, hell even I with only a 408ci am packing a bigger cam 244-248. That motor will get past 600rwhp like something fierce if a cam in the high 240's is installed. Now I'm thinking what a little more compression and a mid 250's cam can do!

i think i might have to find out what a 446 with ls7 heads and a 253/261 cam with 12:1 compression will do

I would bet that with a soft p&p job on the heads a good valve train and a Harrop ITB intake for free flow, I see no reason not to hit 650rwhp.
