I said no because of the equal value thing. I traded my hot rod '78 for a '91 Rippie ZR-1 a while back. I since sold the ZR-1 and I will eventually be looking into another C3. In almost every aspect, the ZR-1 was a better car, and it's an apples-to-oranges comparison on performance. I just like the ballsy attitude and wild styling of the C3's. They represent a bygone era in auto manufacturing. The ZR-1 never did that for me. At the same price point, I think you would be disappointed in the C4 offerings. Don't get me wrong, the ZR-1 was a ton of fun, but I often felt nostalgic for the '78! YMMV--

I sold my 77 and bought a 96, am glad I did. The 96 is a much better car in every way; however the 96 was more than an equal value exchange.

It depends on what you want the car for. If its to be a daily driver, the C4 would be my choice. But if its eye appeal you want, the C3 wins. Pull into a cruise-in with a well maintained C3 and park it near a C4 (or a C5 or C6 for that matter) and the C3 will grab the most attention. Handling and performance go to the C4, visually, its the C3.

I want a c4 for a daily driver/autocross car, don't get me wrong, the c3 handles good with the new rack and pinion, rear monospring and sway bar upgrades, but from what I can tell......it is no c4 handling, well maybe, never drove a c4...
I am in eureka, CA, email any questions to me boycelaforest@reconcentral.net

C3 for C4
Boyce, Have a C-4 convertabe 89 nice driver. Put lots of new parts on it, top, tires etc. Been trying to trade /sell it for couple of months. Have several deals working, one for a super looking 71 convert.
The 89 has twice the ride the as the C-3. Seems everytime I try to make my self give it up the C-4 , I go drive a C-3 and can't quite make up my mind. I like the looks of the C-3s especially before they droped the steel bumper and changed the HP to 185.
Like the looks of your car. Really want a 4 speed. Let me know whats up. Wish you well JIM

This may sound like a radical idea, but have you considered selling the C3 first then looking for a C4?
I know the thought of living even one day without a Corvette in the garage can cause severe depression in some members, but by selling your car first you know how much you can spend on a C4, AND, you can buy a C4 that you really like, not just the one someone else is willing to trade.
