A few shots I took...
Anyone know what I can do about the pitting in the last 2 pics?
Thanks!

That's the fricken shine of all shines.
Holy sheet Doc. what the helm happen to those rims.
Only thing I can think of is something caustic splashed on them.
Might need to pull in a few more root canals and buy better one's.

I used Meguiars polish, glaze & carnuba wax along w/ spray detail.

I will lower her after I move in 2-3 months.

As far as the rims getting splashed, I can't see what or when something could have hit them..It's a pitting in the metal...

Ron,

Did you happen to drive these when we had our last snow storm here? Did you get any road salt on these? I am betting that's what has happened.

No Don, this car has never been driven in the snow. Note, the fronts are worse than the rears..

Hi Dr. Ron -

That looks like the same "growths" that I found inside the barrels of the Z06 chromies I bought used a while back.

The chrome inside the barrels was not polished well (if at all) and the irregular surface (compared to the high-polished faces) started this corrosion like peeling of the chrome.

I have been using copious amouts of elbow grease / polish on the faces and that is working ok, but the barrels will need sanding (or maybe an sos pad) - but these will scour the surface...

That's too bad, buddy. I guess you have to take them off and wax them every month to keep them as nice as most of us would like.

That reminds me, I have some 505A's that are needing some spring cleanup...

best regards -

mqqn

I tried a small spot w/ a few grades of sand paper but this didn't really do too much. I was afraid to try too hard though. This has me puzzled.

Ron,

Car looks great! I gotta try that stuff. I've been using Zaino for years but maybe its time to try something new. You car looks really nice.

Don't worry about the pitting in the wheels, I think the only to get rid of it is to switch to an automatic. Have you ever seen pitting on that dual turbo'd auto Z? Me neither. I'd take pitting over an auto any day

Thanks folks!
Ron
