Calling all LS2 Experts
I started an earlier thread about how disappointed I was with my dyno numbers: 355 RWHP, 359 RWTQ.
Thought I'd get a second opinion and had Jeff Creech of CAM dyno my car today. His numbers were 362 RWHP 365 RWTQ. Not much better.
These numbers were with a tune, LG long tubes, ported TB, Vararam, and Magnaflow catback.
Needless to say, Jeff was scratching his head as well. During a visual inspection, he noticed the casting numbers on the heads were 799 and he thought all LS2's were casting number 243. Wrong heads?
A little preliminary research revealed that 799 heads showed up on 5.3 liter HO motors found in some trucks and SSR's.
Favor #1: Will any of you who have '07's please check your casting numbers. One is found on the passenger side at the rear of the head next to the fire wall.
Favor #2: Will any of you engine afficianados please check your memory banks and verify that all LS2's came with 243 heads?
If I indeed have the wrong heads, hopefully Chevrolet will replace the heads or install a new LS2. I may have a totally wrong engine with the wrong cam as well.
Thanks guys. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Hey BC Bob! Glad Jeff was able to improve on those numbers a little for you anyways. It's crazy you found the truck heads in your car. I haven't heard of that, but maybe someone else here will know something. Keep us updated on your situation.

"In honor of jpee"
This could be very interesting....
Sorry the answer didn't exist with the tune alone, but maybe the solution is coming up.

bob, I know this is nutty, but is it possible someone swapped your heads at the shop you went to before Jeff? Your mods lean towards no, but was it there by itsself over night, many nights? Just a question, no accusations intended.
